Photographer’s Note

The Cañon Lodge is located in the mid of the Gondwana Nature reserve, approx. 20 km far away from the main lookout point of the Fish River Canyon national parks. Between powerful rocks from granite rock about 20 reet covered bungalows are located.

The picture was taken just after sunrise.

A good point of view on this lodge set in rather a stark landscape. The lodge blends in very well with the land surrounding it. Very good clarity.

A composition well balanced with the way in the Fg which invites to discovery the image. I like especially the very nice harmony of the colours well collected, this harmony is very nice. An intersting and very good photowork.

This looks like the wild west of USA except the unique architecture style which is very interesting in this POV.

Good composed view and the lodge is very well located in the park to get morning or evening view.

Clearly sunrise was a good time for the light here. It is a well framed work with the winding road leading to the archtecturally interesting lodge, with the cliff behind. Looks like a great place to stay.

beim ersten Bild war für mich völlig unvorstellbar, dass dort Menschen leben können, hier ist aber der Beweis dafür - oder sind die Bungalows nur für Touristen? Schöne, aber recht unfreundliche Landschaft.

The location looks spectacular and very inviting. How did you find Namibia? Easy going and a safe country? I am thinking about a self drive trip but I do not have any personal info or experiences from other people that did the same. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Hi, Achim. The lodge looks a little out of place in its environment. The thatched roof looks very English... Apart from that, I like how it occupies the whole width of the picture and how the dirt road leads the eye to it. Nice colours and good contrast.

this Cañon Lodge must be a great experience to stay and live in for some days.I like the earthy camouflage colors that the lodge is constructed and are the same with the whole environment.The red plants are the only decoration.Well done.

Hello Achim, it is surprising this large building in a decoration making think, from the shape of the rocks, with the Rocky Mountain or another decoration of western, the composition is very beautiful, this light morning develops these reports/ratios of colours well refined and soft in this area of the world or the sun is very hot, sincerely .....................Bonjour Achim, il est surprenant ce grand bâtiment dans un décor faisant penser, de par la forme des rochers, au montagne rocheuse ou autre décor de western, la composition est très belle, cette lumière matinal valorise bien ces rapports de teintes raffinés et douce dans cette région du monde ou le soleil est très chaud, bien amicalement

It seems like a very arid place. What I like here is the architecture that doesn't seem to 'hurt' much the environment. It's discrete and it seems a nice place to stay. Fine interplay of horizontality bettween the roof and the canyon in the background.

Very nice image showing the area landscape, so arid, dry, and dusty everything. Even the lodge have very similar color almost blending in with the beautiful desert nature. Good clarity and light good sharpness and composition. Thanks.

The point of view leads our eyes toward the Canon lodge an to the mountains in the background. The mountains are framing well the lodge. The details and colors of the architecture of the lodge are clear and precise. The light is enhancin the colors. Have a nice day.
