Photographer’s Note

CANYON LAND REGION
This region includes the second largest canyon in the world - the Fish River Canyon - an impressive gash in the landscape and up to 550m deep.
The region also Ai-Ais with its hot springs - a veritable oasis in this parched and dry land. Hikers attempting the popular Fish River trail both start and end here, but many visitors come just to soak in the healing waters and relax away from their busy lives.
Keetmanshoop with plenty of old, colonial architecture is also worth a visit. While in the area, don't forget the interesting settlement of Bethanie, with its interesting history and attractions like the Duwisib Castle nearby.

Hi JP,
The sky is abit grainy, but the light on the rest of the photo is right on. Really nice landscape. Looks like another planet.

Bonjour Jean-Pierre,
Presque des allures de Colorado en effet. Mais le relief aux alentours , montre que c'et n'est pas le Grand Canyon.
Le paysage est granduiose, mais le photo fort graineuse et quelque peu délavée, un manque de netteté aussi.
Un paysage inetressant et une note qui l'est tout autant.

Bonjour et bravo pour cette nouvelle vue à la perspective très impressionnante. La lumière était superbe et la composition soignée. Dommage encore une fois que le scan ne rende pas justice à l'ensemble, mais la qualité du cliché reste bien perceptible ! merci du partage !

Quelle vue vertigineuse!la riviere semble etre un petit filet d'eau dans ce paysage si sec,tu nous as habitué a mieux coté qualité,l'image est neanmoins interessante tout comme la note(de plus j'ai rien a dire aprés ma betise d'hier)merci du partage,

Beau canyon africain, je ne m'attarde pas sur la qualite je sais pourquoi, le remarque la bonne profondeur de ce paysage et j'apprecie l'inclusion de cette plante en premiere plan qui agremente tres bien ta composition.

Cette vue est particulierement belle, beaucoup de profondeur et on y voit tres loin.
La Namibie semble etre un pays splendide au vue des differentes photos deja publiees.

J'aime bien le cadrage avec cette petite touffe d'herbes sèche au milieu de cette rocaille.

Such a beautiful landscape and you did a very good job in capturing it.
Your photo reminds me of this place in Ladakh, India (Tibetan Plateau) at an altitude of 5000 meters that looks so very similar to this photo. Its amazing how the nature is found in different parts of the world

je découvre ta galerie et je vois que tu as été en namibie voir le fish river canyon en 2001. Tes photos me rappellent de très bons souvenirs car moi meme, j'ai effectué un voyage la bas en 1998. C'est un lieu exceptionnel. Très belle photo.
