Good composition, and the strong saturated colours give this an immediate impact.
I would maybe have tried to exclude the scrubby sand along the bottom of the frame, concentrating on just the golden dune, the tree and the sky.
A very good shot nontheless.

This is a wonderful image frome Namibia!!!
Good composition with the lonely tree and the curve at this impressive dune.The contrast with the sky is amazing.Congratulations.
Did you use a polarizer?.
There is some noise in the sky and I tried a workshop with neatimage.

Bonsoir daniel,
de très belle couleurs et une super comp avec cette pente de la dune formant une diagonale et cet arbre sec au pied. Dommage que la photo soit un peu bruitée. le belu du ciel est magnifiquement sombre.
Une tentative en WS pour diminuer un peu le bruit.

This is great - exactly how sand dunes should be. Nice combination of diagonal lines and curves. Bit noisy but this could easily be corrected. I like that you have kept the tree in the foreground

Great photo with very strong colors. The tree gives a feeling of the hot and deathly desert to the photo. It's also an additional eye-catcher that leads the eyes to the dune. Very good job.

Bonjour Daniel,
certes une classique mais néanmoins très belle vue .
J'aime le coté opposition de couleur sable/ciel symbolisant le chaud et le froid .
Le versant de la dune coupant l'image en deux lui donne une dynamique intéressante .
Le ciel est d'un bleu profond ; est-ce dû à l'emploi d'un filtre polarisant ?

Superbe composition de ce tryptique dune, ciel et arbre. Le contraste des couleurs est magnifique. Cette pyramide naturelle est vraiment exceptionnelle. je m'y vois déjà (mon prochain voyage dans 2 mois)

Daniel: just hopped in to get this image from your front page. A great Velvia slide? The hues are definitely film. You can use Photoshop to eliminate some of the noise in the sky. And try this from Luko for sharpening:
Luko's sharpening script:
- USM : effect 18, radius 40, threshold 0
- USM : effect 150 radius 0.3, threshold 0
- edit/fade USM, 100%, darken blend mode,
- USM : effect 150 radius 0.3, threshold 0
- edit/fade USM, 50%, brighten blend mode.

dur dur de choisir une photo dans ta gallerie, que de pays visités, que de richesse dans ton coeur, et combien de souvenirs en photos...je m'arrête beaucoup sur ce genre de cliché pour le moment, c'est un rêve que je veux me permette un jour aussi, d'aller photographier les plus belles dunes du desert,celle ci est très jolie par sa perspectibe et ses courbes, cette couleur qui ressort bien du bleu magnifique du ciel et le pin qui est le pti plus et le bienvenu dans la compos, un peu bruitée en effet...merci pour le partage, amicalement bi

Composition parfaite. La lumière est divine. Par contre, je trouve que le polariseur a trop marqué le ciel et enlève un peu de réalisme à ce paysage somptueux.

Bravo tout de même !

c dingue....
j'ai remarqué que sur ce genre de clichés, sur TE ou ailleurs, il s'agit invariablement de la Namibie....
incroyable! a croire que ces paysages ne se trouvent que là-bas...

en tous cas, pour moi c'est toujours aussi efficace.
