Photographer’s Note

A dune in Sossusvlei national park. I remember our guide referring to it as crazy dune because it would be a crazy idea to try to climb that one...
No idea whether it is commonly referred to by this name...
I wanted to fill the frame with its abstract form...

a very pleasing graphic interpretation of these majestuous dunes. The light is wonderful as well as the textures, especially since there are enhanced by the presence of those small patches of grass.

Hi Karsten,
The dune definitely has an amazing shape and form to it, with your POV adding depth to the entire scene. Although you state that you wanted to create an abstract type of image, I feel that the inclusion of something or somebody in the shot would provide some perspective of size. I know that these Namibian dunes can be enormous. Anyway, well done all-the-same.

Great shot from Namibia.
The sand creates wonderful curves and the sun gives them great colours, nearly golden ones on some parts.
