Dunes at Sunrise, a photo from Hardap, South

Photographer's Note

This shot was taken not too far from the Sossusvlei park entrance near sunrise when the shadows still highlighted the curves of the dunes. There is an ostrich walking across the base of the dune. I took another shot with the ostrich as the focus but I think I prefer this one that shows the immensity of the dunes.

You were lucky to enter the park early in the morning. We lost so much time at the queue. :-)

The ostrich is certainly a bonus in this picture, but I wish it were more in open space to be noticable. Maybe darkening in the foreground could be an option to do that.

Would you also consider increasing contrast overall?

Les couleurs prises par la dune au soleil couchant sont très belles et contraste joliment avec le ciel. L'autruche, même un peu discrète, est un plus pour l'image.

Hi Robert,
I dream about visiting Namibia, it really looks to be a place with incredible sceneries ! I love the contrasts on this picture, between dark and lighted sides of the dune, and between mineral atmosphere of the dunes and the wildlife in the foreground.
