Photographer’s Note

Dead Vlei, a clay pan located near Sossusvlei, inside the Namib-Naukluft Park, is surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world, some reaching up to 300 meters. Before Tsauchab River was reaching this place during the rainy seasons but later sand dunes encroached on the pan and blocked the river from the area so the trees living here died. The remaining skeletons of the trees which are about 500 years old give really amazing impression.

A wonderful study Maciej. The graceful lines of the sand dunes, the contrasts in colour, and the starkness of the dead trees all come together to create an amazing desert scene. Very well composed.

I have added this to my favourits, a perfect photo, whats more is that a 1000 people will walk by this scene and not see the photo and along come you and thinks this makes a fantastic photo. great eye.

Dead Vlei to prawdopodobnie najbardziej obfotografowane i jednoczesnie najbardziej charakterystyczzne miejsce w Namibii... miejsce ktore wyglada jak z innej planety i jak widac po ilosci komentarzy "wpadajace w oko". Doskonala kompozycja, natomiast zastanawiaja mnie kolory, bo podloze jest tam praktycznie biale, a tutaj wyszlo mocno rozowe...
