The Namibian landscape takes on a dramatic beauty as the sun dips in the western sky and bathes the isolated inselberg with its dying rays. In the foreground you can see the rim of the scar that is the Sesriem Canyon.

Ho weird i was out shooting last night and part of the scene looked over an old industrial bing in East Lothian that looks so much like this. Uncanny so it is
the sun was lighting it up as well and giving this same glow
Classic shot well captured :-)

What a gorgeous scenery in unspoiled Africa! The sky is so blue, and with evening sun shined mountains in the distance, this picture is very enjoyable.

Another one of your glorious landscape shots. Incredible clarity and sharpness. I wonder how far the distant mountains are - you must have a free view over several miles here, on both sides of the canyon. The setting sun brings out really splendid colours and colour combinations. The clouds are the icing on the cake. Splendid work! TFS.
Have a nice week.
Best regards, Erling

The red toned landscape contrast nicely with the lovely and interesting sky. Light is super and the colours pleasantly saturated.

Hello Rosemary ,

Love the lighting on the mountain, it has a warm golden glow to it against the blue sky. I like your pov and it has good dof with sharp details. Awesome colors. Well done, tfs.

Looks very similar to outback Australia in western Queensland, the Northern Territory or the Kimberley in Western Australia. Might even pass for the Flinders Ranges in South Australia! Fantastic warm cold colour contrasts between the red and blue with good sharpness and well composed using the rule of thirds. Tfs!

Your landscape posts are always charming and executed with superb eye catching colors combination. This one is also fantastic and has been taken during such a lovely moment with a special warm lighting. Very well done. TFS.

A shot which dramatically reminds me of Uluru (Ayers Rock), which also has a strong red colouring at the right time of day. I like the strong contrast between the rough foreground and the sky, with those strongly delineated clouds, and the combination of the colours of deep blue and reddish ochre. Perhaps I would have cropped a little off the bottom to lower the horizon.

In a way it looks like Ayer's Rock in Australia, but of course you took the shot far away from there. This red mountain range reflects obviously the sunset I guess. There are different layers of brown to red to grey clouds and blue sky. Well done
Sorry I cannot tell you how many tons of flowers are used in South East Asia, but one thing is for sure, in Laos they use much less then in Thailand, perhaps not even 1% what the neighbour uses.

Beau ciel.

I´m sure this landscape would look breathtaking at any time of the day,but here illuminating so lovely by the sun really takes on a new, more dramatic and beauty expression.I enjoy the color contrast betwen golden coloured mountain and blue sky.Looks delightful!
Your composition is a perfect example how light can affect the image and its atmosphere.

A beautiful natural scene, I have to say I hugely enjoy seeing your beautiful country through your gallery. The sun has created a very magical light, and the clouds are like a work of art!
All the best

Namibia is such a varied and beautiful country, as this wonderful image shows us. I love the golden light on the distant mountain sandwiched between a stunning sky and amazing textured fg. Irresistible!
Regards - Brian.

Splendid lanscape with nice light and a fantastic cloudy sky. I like a lot!

Hello dear Rosemary
Wow I had to look twice at this, because I thought it was the Aussie Outback again. That light and those colours, together with the monolith in the bg are such a stunning combination. I like the almost half-half framing - breaking rules is always fun, especially when it's done with such skill. The fg textures are very attractive too. Thanks for sharing, have a great day.

Uau what a landscape taken with great clearness, it shows there are still unspoiled places on earth
Like at first glance the striking contrast earth and sky with clouds so low and nice
Greetings, congrats and TFS
rogerl (1616) 2013-05-31 7:14
Rosemary, this is another lovely landscape. The clouds against the deep blue sky are just beautiful, and you've captured the light on the hill very well, with the added foreground giving us a little bit of scale. Thanks.
emka (89499) 2013-06-02 12:28
Hi Rosemary, As here Aussie noticed, it looks very similar to the Australian outback, and I was in both places. Near Kata Tjuta I had an impression I was still in Namibia. Also red - even if rock and not sand, the same colour, and dry trees pointing at the sky. And funny, I was in Africa with Australians. Beautiful view of Sesriem in sunset time.

Superb shot much to my our liking, I love taking these types of photographs with great foregrounds, centre features and those wonderful photographers clouds. TFS cheers Peter

similarly to Lisa: if I was about to guess what country it is from I would say Australia. I have never been there but the huge orange rock seems to me like Uluru from the photos of course. Lovely view at amazing light.
