Photographer's Note
I can't resist posting a couple of photos from Deadvlei.
Although, I believe, all people who have ever visited or even just checked Internet for Namib desert are familiar with this landscape. It is almost like to display Eiffel tower on the photo of Paris. Still, I am saying I can't resist :)
Deadvlei (1.5km from Sossusvlei)is a special place. We came there close to noon, the temperature on a summer midday was probably close to 45C. We haven't even noticed the heat: we were so enchanted with this fairy-tale landscape.
I increased contrast with curves and levels to fight a noon paleness of colours.

Hello Olga,
Harsh contrast between dune and sky is eye catching. You very cleverly add a dead tree body while creating good depth with your lower POV. Very good one, congratulations.

Olga-
I agree that the lighting would have been better either earlier or later in the day. However, you have taken a wonderful photograph with the light you had available.
Very nice composition.

Hello Olga,
What a wonderfully composed shot; the proportions are just right. The colours are strong and the focal point is nicely off-centre.
This photograph tells a story!
kind regards,
Bev :-)

Yes, I saw many images from this place but this one has different things, the compo isn't the same, the dead tree is very interesting here like a sculpture. Very nice work

Hi Olga,
This is cool. I love simplicity and this shot is perfect. The large gnarled stump and the bush in the foreground lead perfectly into the full scene. Nice colors and detail. Well done and TFS. GErald

Hi Olga,
Allthough there have already been quite some postings on the Namid Deadvlei, I would not be albe to resist either and it is surely a place I'd love to go to one day!! :-)
Haha, you're so right with your comparison with the Eiffel tower! Must be hard in both cases to find a really original point of view! But you found a very pleasant point of view here. Very nice division with the foreground, the sanddune and the blue sky in the back. I like it!!
Greetings,
Dennis
PS: How did you end up there?!

Hi Olga,
another beautiful shot with abstract art form like dried tree trunk. Texture is really nice and so is the view.

Hi Olga
Very good composition with the little bush in the foreground balancing with the burnt trunk. The red dune is so impressive and the colour stands out so well against the blue sky.
