This shot is another one taken near Aus - the last one I'll post. The desert here is mountainous but with partial dunes and scattered with camelthorn trees. I set up my tripod for this one to capture the fleeting rays of the sun as they escaped the valley.

Wonderful warm colours and golden light captured at exactly the right moment. Brilliant composition with the eye-catching boulder in the foreground and layers of light and shadow in the background.
I hope you don't mind me point out (but I suppose that's what this forum is for) there are several sensor dust marks visible in the sky. Doesn't really spoil the effect for me as it is a beautiful image but may be worth removing if you're planning to sell/exibit this shot.
So glad I've happened upon your gallery with lots of images I'd like to have a closer look at!

the last hours f the day are the best for nature picture because the low sun creates and stretches the shadows, lights only some parts, giving the sense of a 3D image.
