[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a shot of the "Pondoks", a cluster of bizarre rock formations around Namibia's most famous mountain, the "Spitzkoppe". Thanks to it's striking silhouette towering above the endless dry plane, the Spitzkoppe is also called the Matterhorn of Namibia.

Only experienced mountaineers with adequate equipment can climb the Spitzkoppe, but in the surrounding Pondoks we could clamber and climb our hearts out which was really amazing!

We pitched our tent on one of the campsites scattered between this bizarre granite rock formations and watched the sun go down in complete solitude. Sunset is really breathtaking in this area: the sun changes the colours of the rocks from dark yellowish to ochre. In my opinion it's one of the best places in Namibia.

Hi Lore
I really like the way you framed this picture, using the shape of the moutain as pattern. Obviously I don't visit this place.
Cheers
JP

You visited very interesting places and made a good photos of them! Stereotypes working on us: is it safe to live in tent in Namibia? I have a friend from Kamerun and he told me a lot about the country, but I'm afraid its the limits of my knowledge about the continent.
