Bushmen from San tribe : just before leaving for hunting, in the desert of Kalahari, North Namibia.

Hunters are looking for antelopes, gnus, wild beats around water holes. But as the dry season is going on, the beasts are going far away and the hunters can spend two or three days before coming back to the village. The women are looking for ostriches' eggs : one egg can feed approx. 24 persons... The shell is used as jars, pots.

Bushmen are essentially gathered in sedentary villages today, in the North of Namibia. But a decade ago they were nomads, going where food and water was.

In the background of the photo, you can see the roof of his small house, made of mud and branchs.

Hey Marie,

Nice B&W portrait. Sharp and accurate. I just love the pyramid in the background as well as the calm expression of the hunter's face. The thing I don't like much is a blurred white border around the picture.

I wish you wrote some more about him and his life, more about Namibia...

Best regards

Pawel

Hey, I didn't know Morgan Freeman had to act a bushman in his next movie... ;D ...I would have loved to see more of his house as a context element, though.

Adios.
