| This shot was taken at a waterhole in Etosha National Park, Namibia. The giraffe waited quite a while before drinking, making sure no other animals were present to attack it in its vulnerable state. As well as giraffe I saw elephant, zebra, kudu, rhino, and gemsbok; it was amazing to see such a variety of animals in one place! |

Clare, I like this photo, for the movement and colour of the water and the ungainly posture of the usually so elegant giraffe. He looks all legs in this shot, almost in fact looks as though he will overbalance. I can well understand him making sure he was safe before drinking.
Chek out Brendans photo of all those animals together http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Africa/Namibia/photo50490.htm :o) This is a very different giraffe view, but the pose is wellknown. The compo is nice, but the image is either out of focus or not sharpened.
I have used my 20 ratings but I'll be back tomorrow :o)
