The Herero people of Namibia are a pastoral cattle breeding nation. it is believed they migrated from the east African lakes arriving in Namibia about 350 years ago. Their initial home was in Koakoland near the Kunene River. The traditional dress is derived from a Victorian womans dress, and consists of an enormous crinoline worn over a several petticoats, a horn shaped hat (said to represent the horns of a cow) made from rolled cloth is also worn.

The colours spring out of the screen!
I just think it's a pity we are not able to see the faces quite well. But eventhough I really like it.
[I've tryed a WorkShop - cropping to get them closer and framing them tighter]

So colourfull and vivid picture. Beautiful colours of ladies' clothes and of the surroundings as well. The expression and pose of lady in red adds meaning to the scene and the shadow she casts strengthen this feeling. Greatly seen!
Besides, I think that the compo can be improved with a tighter crop. So, I've tried a workshop - hope you like it.

The "Herero-Chimba" on a contrary to "Herero Himba" is funny looking tribe with their funny Victorian hats, but the history of this brave tribe is terrible.
In 1904 – exactly 100 years ago - there was what being called "the first massacre of the 20th century while this tribe revel ageist the German conquistadores and General Hpon Trote kill most of the tribe in cruel methods killing 65,000 people.
Last year the minister Wieczorek-Zeul apologized on behalf of her country in a memorial day for 100 years to the genocide.
Good reminder of the brutality that can take place in our world.
And very good picture (I tried to improve cropping and shadings in WS).

This beautiful picture has several things going for it: The contrast of the geometrical lines of the architecture to the billowing clothes of the women is interesting. Also The colors are spectacular. And of course the lighting is geat in this picture, too. Very well done!

This is a really interesting shot, Eyal. the colours are brilliant and the costumes too are great. I like the poses - the two women sitting together in thoughtful conversation (or perhaps not?) with their hands resting in the same way. I tried a workshop on this one, see if you like it.
