This trio in Vilanculos snapped to attention when I pulled out my camera, with the lad on the right showing off his rockin' air guitar technique.
Vilanculos is a popular beach hangout and the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago, a group of islands and Mozambique's only underwater national park. It is world renowned for its superb variety of white sand, alluring golden sunsets and evocative palm trees.
Traditional dhows sail through the Bazaruto Archipelago amidst the azure waters, sandy beaches and pristine coral reefs. The area surrounding is ranked as the best black marlin destination in the eastern Indian Ocean, because they feed in the shallow-water shoals around the Islands. The archipelago's coral reefs and clear waters offer some of the best diving in the world and an incredible abundance and diversity of marine life, including dolphin, humpback whales, whale sharks, sharks, manta and spotted eagle rays, and green turtles. |
