Photographer’s Note

Yet another photo from my recent bike trip to Mozambique...

This is Dennis, the deck-hand on the boat that took us out to the open sea for some fishing. This was taken on our way back to the shore, in the river mouth, hence the brown color of the water.

For us it was quite an experience, even if we didn't cath anything (the water was too murky, they said). For Dennis it was just another day at work... :-)

A different – but interesting and nice – Africa shot. I like the "modern" subject. And how the splashings and the wide position of the legs create the atmosphere of the speed. Well composed, beautiful tones.

nice shot henry! a little bit too contrasty maybe on his face , but i guess the light made it hard to get light on him... maybe some ws on ps?? as olli said, i like this modern version of africa too;-)) nice shot

Good shot. I like the position of his legs, to keep up with the boat's balance, that gives him a powerful posture in the frame. The brown water splashing in the background is a nice detail. Well done

Great composition of contrasts and fine colours, Henry! :-) I like his red hat, the way he is keeping ballance and the way he is looking aside so seriously. Dennis is a character and I think that you captured perfectly his personality.
I love the clouds of splashing water behind the boat - they give such a powerful element to your shot. Excellent job, Henry!

Good picture though it pales in comparison to your other Mozambique pictures, The composition is straighforward.

A good addition to your travelogue, Henry, which is really becoming a diverse and uniquely colorful collection. Not quite as spectacular as your landscapes, but a fine and sympathetic portrait of Dennis. I like how the brownish wave of water and the light blue sky contrast with the foreground. Well done.

What makes this shot so good is the brown soalsh of eatrer from the boat's ptoppelr. I like the contrast of this browns with the blue tones of the sky. Wonderful shot, Henry.
