Relaxed and leaned on the tired boat, this woman throws you a grasping gaze. Other figures are living their peacefull lives, their faces exposed to salty breeze. Soft tones of evening talk, some charming sound uttered by those tiny lads. I can well imagine the feeling there. An image likely to jump out of "The Thin Red Line"...
Congrats,
Deniz

Speaking of The Thin Red Line, amazing how you lined up the red painted edge of the boat with the red stripe of sunset on the horizon. It brings the humans, their meagre technology and nature altogether in a single stroke. -Hugh
Hugh'S remark is so apt, really well seen on his part, and yours, of course;o) Nicely composed piece, the boat anchoring the shot in the most forthright manner. "Eagles" Title has ironic overtones for me, though - judging from the nearest face and the darkish tones and sad looking foreground, I'd say it looks more like "Peaceful uneasy feeling" for me, man ;o)But that's just me I guess...

The atmosphere is very mellow indeed. And the composition helps convey this very nicely. Normally, a tigher crop would have been the way to go. A filled frame is more dynamic. But given that the idea here is to exhibit the tranquility of the scene, the large areas of 'dead space' work really well. Good use of the boat to provide perspective as well. One of those pics that remind me to get my ass back on the road sometime soon!
Cheers,
mikkel

I was thinking it should be titled "More than a Feeling" by Boston. Beautiful beach side living against a very used boat. Everything is in it's proper place, very calm. Even the surf is calm..

Another lovely upload. What I like about this one is that each person is doing something different.

Hello, Luko--
Nice work here... not the flashiest piece, but something about it that i can't put a finger on really expresses a very peaceful and calm feeling... perhaps it's the large boat that seems not to have moved in quite some time, resting strongly on the shore while the ladies lean against it.
Thanks!

une lumiere extraordinaire sur une scene paisible, ces femmes savourent le coucher du soleil et semblent apprecier un moment de detente, le bateau est important ici comme une toile de fond

Just a good no nonsense daily life shot, everybody interacting with each other and each person you look at seems to carry their own story.

This is very beautiful, Luko. I almost feel as if I am there. I like "Peace Photography" as well and this one suits that title very well. Beautiful light.

bel instant de la vie saisi au soir d'une belle journée, les visages sont expressifs et on croit entendre les murmures de leurs voix

My laptop is quite a piece of crap and perhaps the white area on the upper space is caused by its faulty sensativiness at good photography . Anyway what shocks me is really the attitude of those relaxed people that don,t seem much to care about your pressence and it brings me back to a discussion i dealt yesterday on a forum about how to portrait people and tips for accomplishing the goal of becoming a sort of intrepid street adventurer photographer in Hungary where people is often rather bitter and dry . Turkey offered me nice chances for human street photography as their mood were more relaxed and i felt you enjoyed a similar or better situation in Mozambique by assessing those faces turning their attention shyly to your lens or not even paying attention to a white french man roaming by with an expensive photo set. So it is a silly and repeated ,tiring , loathesome thought or topic but your picture sprang back on me that keepsake about how harsh and rigid we Europeans or occidentals are ...F.c k Europe ...
Your pictures and comments needless to say and without attempting to flatter (o hacerte la pelota como decimos aqui ) is one of the little reasons which i open TE daily for

Hello Luko
THe boat dominates the scene very nicely, everyone else in the scene seems to be somehow attached to it. The xpression of the lady sitting on the right is particularly interesting

Question: is this a day at the beach, or a day of work for these people; or both?
always, such expression of humor and personal
insight to your world; thanks for the wonderful and entertaining notes and photos.
Other question: Horizons versus vertical wide shots-- what's your opinion- to each his/her own? To me, it is kinda of novelty vs. natural eyesight. Anyways, love your notes and photographic expertise. take care
