The Tea Ceremony Photo

Photographer’s Note

The tea ceremony is a very special moment. Usually the tea is drink many times during the day, but when there are some host, then it becames really important. Every one can have its way to prepare the tea: more or less tea, more or less pepermint, more or less sugar... And always, with the tea you eat some biscuits...mmmmmh...delicious biscuits, a lot of differents kinds of biscuits...

And after all this, you just have to drink, eat and talk...the most important, finaly, is to share...

Fantastic shot. I like interesting presentations of natural details, artistic composition of the ceremony and two persons. Superb colors and DOF. Misty, calm atmospher. Congratulations!

Joli cadrage sur cette cérémonie très importante dans le monde musulman. Tu as bien utilisé les verres pour compléter ton cadrage.

Bonjour Javier,

J'aime bien la composition, et surtout les couleurs, fraîches et tendres. Le DOF est excellent et les vêtements de la femme font un parfait arrière-plan pour mettre la scène du premier plan en valeur. Tu as parfaitement cadré, ce qui met fait encore mieux resortir le geste rituel. J'aime bien comment la couleur du thé se confond un peu avec celle du tissu quadrillé, et je me plais à imaginer que les femmes sont assises de chaque côté d'une rivière de thé.

Ola Javier,

Lovely dof to focus on the woman and the teapot. Interesting reflection there too! A hidden self portrait? Anyway, the dof makes the background and the other woman in the scene perfectly blurred and creates a wonderful effect.

Placido momento este que nos muestra aquí, Don Javier. La idea de jugar con el foco me parece muy bonita ¿cuál es el centro de la fotografía? El té, eso tiene que prevalecer... Buena idea y bienvenido a TE, a ver si me pongo al día, ya he visto que has puesto muchas fotos durante mi viaje a India. Hasta pronto!

Une photo qui capte de façon très subtile le rituel du thé. J'aime beaucoup le choix de ta composition, qui, tout en centrant le regard sur la main tenant la théière, invite à avoir un contexte (avec cette femme en second plan). Il se passe quelque chose, comme si nous aussi, nous attendions que le thé soit versé pour pouvoir le boire... Très réussi
