Photographer’s Note
A small story : you already saw the same cats earlier, ("the cats of the Holy Man"), here I wanted to add a separate chapter, so this is about the way the 20/30+ cats are behaving all together : when a mysterious visitor arrived, and before humans could even see her, all in a sudden those same cats rushed simultaneously in her direction ! Mesmerized by the show and as I could not believe my eyes, I took a lot of photos, very fast : please click on the first line and you'll see 4 more photos in succession - first : where are they all running to ? ...
Then, if you want to know why I gave this person such a strange aspect with PP, please read the next paragraph :
It is up to each of you to imagine stories about this mysterious cat lover : as she shyed away from my camera when she finally understood that I had been taking photos of her (last shot of this series of four), I blurred her figure and gave her a ghost-like aspect to respect her anonymity... Then I left her alone with her beloved cats and discreetly went to see the nearby ruins for a while, so I had no chance to find out more about her and her love affair with the ?46 ? cats living near the grave of the Holy Man - I have my own theory about her identity, but this is so far fetched that I certainly will not tell it here ! Anyway, again : the reason why I posted those photos is more about the amazing behaviour of some cats in Morocco, and I can tell you, they love cats in that country !

Bonjour Catherine,

Having made a complete tour to all the four shots on cats as directed I came back here - the point of embarkation. Very interesting documentation of the sequence of events nicely woven with beads of feelings of humans and felines. Ghosting of the woman to hide her identity is a good decision. The sight of so many cats of so many sizes and shapes and designs is really interesting. Black, white, spotted, striped. But it doesn't matter whether it is black or white so long as it catches the mice! Very tame creature. No matter how much the cats fight, there always seem to be plenty of kittens! In fact, there are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats. Enjoyed. Regards.

Merhaba dear Cath,
What a wonderfull scenery. Very good pov and nice compo. Great info's as well.
During my early morning walks at the sea shore ,I meet an elderly woman, carrying heavy bags with different food for cats, and dogs.
The scenery is amazing as, as soon as this woman leaves the scene, another fight for food starts; this time between cats, dogs and seagulls !
Very nice entry, TFS and happ new year !
Best regards

Hi Catherine,
Cats and dogs without any owners are main characters of our city too, Istanbul :) Some people feed them anyway.
Loving without having...
Very nice, steps add horizontal elements to composition.
Happy new year.

Hi Cath,
We have 5 cats and I know how difficult it is to 'herd' them! Cats are highly independent and yet they do have a collective 'sixth sense' that I cannot quite put a finger on.
I love this photo (all the cats giving each other their own 'personal space') and your story. I, for one, am intrigued by reference to your belief of why this phenomena happens...
Kind regards and hope you have a fantastic 2008.
Paul.

Ciao Catherine!
A parte i gatti... BUON ANNO!!!

I couldn't miss this one. What an adorable series of images and interessing story as usual from you, Cath. It makes me remind the "101 dalmatas"...46 is an incredible number. I wouldn't guess that people in Maroccos love cats but I will trust your judgment. This one is a very funny family portrait with a nice zig zag effect.
All the best for 2008,

Salut Catherine,

Hello,
Very nice. I love cats and have been 4 times in Morocco, where I could observe what you say: "they love cats"! I heard a very nice story about Mahomet caressing the back of a cat, being that the reason, why cats always fall with their feet to the ground, so the back can point to heaven. And in fact, cats are appreciated animals in Muslim countries. Acctualy, cats not always fall with their feet down. But it is a nice story.
See you arround and take care
Nuno

Catherine,
