Photographer’s Note

After this
photo one more from the dunes of Merzouga.
I do not know how they were found there and in what they were useful for, but for me it was a good opportunity to capture them.

Hello Danos,
This may very well be your best photo. Colors and texture of the desert are always fantastic at this hour. But these metal chairs produce such a strange feel. It's like they were added to the image afterwards. Bizarre, intriguing, interesting and visually attractive. Regards,

for some reason this photo reminds me of Dali paintings, probably because the chairs in the middle of the desert look so surreal. but also the colours, the combination of warm yellow-brown and cool blue is quite characteristic. excellent photo, both in terms of composition - the placement of chairs create a very nice depth to the scene, and in terms of light management and level of details - the textures on the sand are fantastic. I particularly like your choise of the point of view and that the chairs are under the horizon line. very good work.

Hi Danos, I agree this is a very unusual place to find iron chairs like this, however you made great use of them, to me your POV is perfect, as it takes all four in without detracting from any of the others, the light is excellent & the stunning colours are beautiful, a fine piece of work, kind regards Wilson.

This is terrific! What a marvellous subject - and you have treated very very well. The light is perfect, with no heavy shadows. The colours are clear and pure. Dali ,of course, comes to mind - but you have made your own surreal image here.

Indeed, it was, Danos. Quite a strange set that makes a good oportunity for an artistic capture. Art in the desert? Why not? :) They have quite an interesting design, two females and two males, but only one has arms ;-) The light and colors are gorgeous and I'm thinking of a composition a bit more to the left, so we can apreciate more the long shadows at left, as well as the graphism on the sand.

looks more like a presentation of art. I assume that a chair with small legs is in a desert of sand in most cases useless. But a nice composition of living art with good textures on the sand and good light.

Hola Danos,
peculiar and attractive photography, certainly is art. The composition is simple but elegant, and with the fabulous colors, great resistance of tonalities between brown-ochers of the sand of dunes and the blue one of the sky.
Watching the scene it seems that the passage of time is very slow and calm, great atmosphere.

Πράγματι. Τέχνη πάνω στην άμμο.
Δεν ξέρω πως βρέθηκαν οι καρέκλες εκεί, αλλα σίγουρα εσύ έκανες μια πολύ όμορφη και ασυνήθιστη φωτογραφία.
Πολύ καλό το φώς βοήθησε πολύ στην ανάγλυφο "γράψιμο" του εδάφους, αλλά και στην ανάδειξη της φόρμας των καρεκλών.

Kalispera Dano, I love the strangness of this combination of dunes and metal chair. There's a conceptual feel to it which in this is case is actually emphasized by the immaculate rendering of the sand textures and the metal of the chair... and of course the gorgeous light. Beautiful and enigmatic work, I like this a lot!

hm,certainly was for the tourists who makes pictures for TE;)an interesting scene captured in the desert..i remembered now by a piece of theatre entitled 'Chairs' by E.Ionesco,where the scene is replenished with those chairs and perpetually moved by a personage,a philosophy about illusion of life..i don't know the purpose here,maybe just to take a seat;)...but like the idea and thanks for show us;)

What a fabulous photo opportunity this was, Danos. It is almost like someone has placed these in the desert in order to produce just the photograph that you have taken as a work of art. The colours and shadows of the dunes are terrific in themselves, but without the chairs it would have been 'just another desert shot' However, with the inclusion of the chairs you have a masterpiece! I must remember to bring some chairs along next time I visit Morocco ;)
