I just came back from Vietnam. I am posting not a picture of Vietnam yet but of Morocco. I will come back to you later with some shots of Vietnam. In the meantime...
These two people are vendors of paintings. I like the way one matches with his background. As a seller of painting, I think this is an obvious attempt on his part to match his background.
This was taken in a souk in Morocco. Of course, they were unaware of me. My compossition is experimental. I want to show them in the context of their occupation thus, the composition. What do you think?

Excellent composition, colors and poses.
I especailly like those three white "marks" in a table(?). Panoramic format works well.

Nice colors Manuel. I love the contrast between the green and the pink. Those two guys are prety quiet..
The composition is perfect even though when I can I don't like to crop and have those long images. i am a sucker for the 24x36....

Very nice shot Manny! I like the composition and colours here. Panoramic format works fine for me.

Nice use of colour & good lighting. Sharper would be better. The poses look very natural.
ianmcall (1213) 2004-04-15 5:22
I like the poses, the colours and the composition, it does truly show their world. A nice feel to this.
It doesn't seem as sharp as your usual fare, is this cropped from a much larger shot, or taken from quite a distance?

Great photo! The colors are stunning, and the way the color scheme repeats in the photo is great. I like the 'panoramic' crop too, the placement of the two men is just perfect. I like the dark mood of the photo. Very well done!

back already from vietnam? I thought you were staying a week or so. glad to see you back anyway. I missed your photos... I must be becoming a drugaddict... very nice scene and colors.. your compo is great in that you decided to shoot a large scene (somewhat unusual for you;-) ) taking into the frame this painting on the right hand corner...it opens the perspective and space IMO...again great colors.. Ilike these a lot... welcome back Manny

I like the fine and strong coulors in this composition and not least the good daily life motive captured. well done Manny

This is really nice Manny. the colors are the big star of this show and I like that you have caught a totally candid moment between the two as well. The only thing I would have liked to see differently would be to have the men further left in the frame and more of the painting visible. I think you are right about him wanting to match his shirt to the wall. Good shot.

The colours, particularly on the wood panelling are great. I have to say though, I don't really like the hand on LHS man's face... I think you could have taken a series of shots here, and used a similar one without the hand on the face.

I like the colours of this shot very much. The soft colours of the woodwork and the strong colours of the mans clothes. Also interesting portraits - whats the talking about - very well spotted and captured Manuel.
scalerman (26900) 2004-04-15 12:23
Well framed, I like the off-center approach. Good colors here too Manny.

Wonderfull composition, MAnuel.
I like the colors in your photos, this it's not a exception. You capture a great moment.
richtersl (3546) 2004-04-15 12:48
You captured a wonderful moment in this photo. The pastel colors of the wall and leaving the painting in the corner like you did add the perfect touch. Without these elements all you would have are just two men having a conversation. The photo would still be nice, but it is the surroundings you captured with them that really make this photo a work of art in itself.
sunny (3068) 2004-04-15 13:32
I like the panoramic view and the colours that bring here unique atmosphere and increase the vividness of face expressions and postures of the two men. The light and framing are very good too, Manny - I like the way you put them almost in the center. Very good job indeed!
nwoehnl (122) 2004-04-15 14:51
I think the composition is very cleverly chosen, Manny. The two men are seen in an interesting position and indeed seem to be oblivious of your presence. The background is a genuinely interesting mixture of colors and textures, and the paintings on the right finish it off nicely - ideally a bit more of them would be visible but I guess you can't have everything ;-) Well done. Good to see you're back, and looking forward to some of your Vietnam shots.

I am courius about the white marks on the table, too, Manuel, they are very interesting - not Arabic writing..
Your shot is very interesting, I wish we could hear their coversation and ubderestand why one if them is smiling while the other one is speeking very seriously.
Wonderful colors and composition.
Luko (13998) 2004-04-16 12:51
The color matching is simply outstanding, as for the compo, it's very interesting because, your photo lets us first guess that the guys are old friends chatting outside like in any arabic town, without giving any clue to their social activity or business...then wait until the eyes get to... bang, the paintings, which I never suspected they could be their work.
I agree with Olli the 3 signs are doing an effective job balancing some interest to an otherwise near to empty area.
amitai (879) 2004-04-16 16:53
this is a superb picture. Colors are wonderful The composition seems natural enough (they practically ignored you)and the paintings add a nice mood to the already quiet picture.
smael (2878) 2004-04-21 17:07
The colors work together here in a beautiful harmony!
The wall makes the RGB, wich are a nice "photographic" detail ;)
Your eyes are your best "camera"...
waskahegan (0) 2004-05-25 15:14
a good daily life picture, you capture the spirit of the conversation very well.
rabani (9645) 2004-05-28 1:17
Against a backdrop of pastels, it works and with the paintings a little to the side as if hinting, the story behind the two men. This composition together with the pastel colors, make the photo, an art by itself.
keribar (43841) 2005-03-28 14:10
Very beautiful street scene Manuel, such a nice light, and perfect exposure: Also enjoy the fact that these people do not seem disturbed by you and continue to chat.
Keep well - Izzet Keribar
