nafir.., a photo from Marrakech, South

Photographer's Note

A long natural trumpet called "Nafir" is
occasionally used in Morocco as a signalling instrument in ceremonial music.. Its nearly three-meters!! a kind of "long single-note horn" made of copper.

Its especially used to awaken the faithful during Ramadan.(we have Ramadan drummers in Turkey instead, and our one is definitely noisier! :O).. )

Wow! This one is very elegant! Stylish and expertly done. Great photo! It is amazing how well the bokeh paints the quaint mood that you try to project here.

Hey Evren,

I have tried a couple of times to get a photo of trumpet players and have struggled, but you've done a great job here. The angle does a good job at showing the great length of the trumpet.

Love this kind of shot, Evren (I know how it is made now having tried a few:o)) You were so right to focus completely on the trumpet, plunging the fellow into darkish bokeh, but still visible.
Excellent work, yet again. Pro stuff really.
