Photographer’s Note
I loved that ray of light that caught my attention to this framed street, and the old men...
(nice to see something and not be seen)
ciao!

Carolina,
Very beautiful.
The shaft of light is great, especially since it plays across so many different textures and surfaces, breaking up into lines or lying flat and bold in the ground.
I love all the small details of the street or alley beyond the arch, fading away into the darkness.
I haven't said this often, but I find myself saying it twice in one day today: this picture looks really timeless, as though it could have as easily been taken in the 1800s as today, which adds to its appeal. (The other time was for Tjeerd's picture Clean Light.
Finally, that robe figure gives the whole thing an air of mystery. Who is that person? Male or female? Where are they going and what are they doing? We'll never know.
Really good.
Lee
P.S. And yes, of course, the arch makes a great framing device.
