Essaouira Medina Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a view of the Essaoura Medina streets that form a small maze between the walls surrounding this ancient city on the Atlantic ocean shore.

Along these streets can be found the usual array of Moroccan Artesania shops and in particular wood carving for which Essaouira artesans have earned an excellent reputation, from small objects to whole pieces of furniture.

The Essaouira Medina has been added in 2001 to the UNESCO world heritage.

Hello Jean Yves,
c'est tellement bien de se ballader dans les medinas, c'est plein de vie, de petites echopes, de marches...J'aimes bien les couleurs un peu eparpillees ici, les tons de bleu sont tres jolis (normal on est au Maroc ;o)) et la cadrage centre fonctionne bien avec cette petite allee qui guide notre regard d'un bout a l'autre.

c'est marrant mon regard a tout de suite été attiré par le panneau "Yves Rocher" à droite, un peu insolite à cet endroit.
Belles couleurs, une jolie ruelle où je me baladerais bien en ce moment...

Belle image Jean Yves, quel bel endroit qu'Essaouira.. je me souviens de cet exact endroit.
Yves Rocher, c'est Breton ça!
je suis un grand fan de cette ville, j'y ai rencontré ma compagne.. alors! j'aime même pensé à m'y installer.
je dois y retourner.. absolument. une petite merveille.

Encore une fois, c'est très amusant quand on te suit de passer les océans en si peu de temps :))
Essaouira est une magnifique ville, et j'aime bien cette photo de Medina.

J'aime bien l'ambiance de ta photo, on a envie de suivre et de rentrer, meme si les facades ne sont plus de dernière fraicheur.

J'aime bien aussi le jeu en premier plan:
A droite, 'Yves-Rocher', a gauche 'hallaq', c'est à dire 'Coiffeur'. Les deux s'opposent, mais au même temps se mélangent pour former cette société, mélange de deux cultures.

Ce n'était peut-être pas intentionnel, mais j'aime bien :o)

Hi Jean-Yves,
I really like this shot. The colours and sharpness are excellent, as usual. The buildings are perfectly balanced in the perspective to draw the eye right through the street to the back of the shot, with lots of interesting things to view on the way. A nice observation of daily life there.

what a jump today from latin america down to northern africa; just one thing requires post-processing: the sign "yves rocher" must be replaced by "yves roure" :-)))

Very interesting photo from this Moroccan market, Jean-Yves. Interesting colorful dashes and good inclusion of the people to get a lively rendition of the scenery. Good perspective effect supported by the graphical layout of the pavement. The Yves Rocher sign is a funny detail.

The casual feeling in this one is very fine. A simple everyday atmosphere is something nice to see in these places as most of them are always full of tourists, advertisings in several languages and become uncharacteristic. The small motorbike and the cart are also some nice details to look at as they are very common in these places but not anymore in Europe. Very nice clarity and colors.
