Jemaa el Fnaa

In the evening, when the sunset appears, people shadows grows at every minute.
Here is an example of it. From one of the nice bar terraces with views to the Jemaa el Fnaa in Marrakesh, you can enjoy the movement of the crowded people going up, down, to the left, to the right, and everywhere.
This place is the heart of Marrakesh, every moment of the day is full of all kind of people.

Jaume, the shadows here are very striking, as you've said. Although this place was obviously a hub of activity, the shadows almost look like they anchor everything, frozen. Part of the sunset. Really interesting POV.

Hi Jaume! I love the extreme shadows in this shot. You have done well in getting a high POV showing them even better. I love the play of the light on the textures of open area. Very impressive shooting Jaume!!

Quina foto més impressionant!
Molt bona idea això d'agafar les ombres i més tant allargades, però és genial perquè veus les ombres que apunten cap als dos costats de la foto !
El detall del canvi de terra ajuda a que la imatge no sigui simètrica. Molt bon ull, Jaume. Felicitats.

Great effect with the shaddows - it really gives a feel for the atmosphere of the close of the day. The POV of good and a real sense of movement if given to the viewer. Well captured.

Hi Jaume, very nice downward perspective allowing to see the nice elonganted shadows of the people. I like the strong contrast between the shadow and the low light and how this light brings out the nice texture of the ground. Well done!

Joder Jaume, se me había pasado esta y es, sin duda, la mejor que has puesto aquí. No sólo me parece una idea estupenda, además esta resuelta con maestría. Tiene un punto entre melancólico (por el día que acaba), onírico (por las sombras), extraño (por la conjunción de ambas, luz y sombras)... Es realmente espectacular, una composición en abanico, sí, en abanico, con un punto de luz en la mitad de la linea superión del encuadre y las gentes y sombras esparciéndose a lo largo de la foto como en un semicírculo. Espectacular, Jaume. De exposición.

I like this picture very much. I cannot exactly describe or pin point the real reason. Maybe because of the lighting making the scene very dramatic? Maybe it is the capture of movements by people on a public space? Maybe it is the pattern of pavements on the sidewalk and the streets? Or maybe it is the possibility of more beautiful photographs that can be created from this one. This is an excellent capture Jaume.

Hola Jaume,

Excepcional fotografía la que aquí nos muestras. El juego de sombras y siluetas es espectacular, además me encanta la simetría lineal que se forma al salir las mismas hacia los puntos de fuga. Las bicicletas le dan un toque anacrónico y la verdad es que es una gozada perderse en observar las diversas actividades que cada uno realiza. Parece "Dónde está Wally?" pero a la marroquí.

Excelente trabajo!!

The light is great, and the shadows give the feeling of movement, crowd and activities. As it is most of the time in Jemaa el Fna !

You found a perfect place for a nice point of view ! And if, at that time, you were having a traditional mint tea, I'm sure you really enjoyed the evening !

Te han dicho ya tantas cosas de la foto que poco puedo decir. Además, no nos engañemos, con una foto como ésta, ¿quién es el listo que dice nada encontra?. ¡Lo que no puede ser, no puede ser; y además es imposible!

placing the sun light in the middle is great, the people all seem to be moving toward the light in a heavenly march toward the afterlife...

Nice, but the unfortunately, the bike (which could be the center of the attention) in the fore-ground is hidden by another shadow, the bike just behind it. I like the picture, but the moment isn't just right to make this a 'perfect' picture.
