Chefchaouen is a city in northwest Morocco, and is well known for its buildings in shades of blue. It is a great place with a relaxed atmosphere and perfect for exploring the small and often steep streets.
The name refers to the shape of the mountain tops above the town, that look like the two horns (chaoua) of a goat. "Chef Chaouen" derives from the Berber word for horns, Ichawen.

Difficult to do more blue. I never visited this place in Morocco, I will put it in the list of things to do.
And I will soon push the door to see what is behind ;-)

Now that is blue indeed. An almost surreal scene that is most pleasing to look at. I wasn't aware of a blue city in Morocco, so thank you for bringing this to my attention as Morocco is probably our next important travel destination. Until now I only knew Jodhpour in India as a blue city.
I wish you a happy new year

The town must really be a peculiar place, with these colors and tints, and you did a great job capturing its atmosphere in this picture.
I like how the door (and the panel on the right) stand out by just being of a different shade of blue. Good choice of POV, with the stairs that lead the viewer's attention to the door above.

An excellent study in light and colour, well composed and full of texture. I like the simple composition with the stairs leading up to the door. The unique blue paint makes it an interesting and attractive shot with a superb quality. A charming scene.

I really want to visit this city one day. Looks like a very nice and blue corner.
Have a lovely new year.

Great composition and presentation of this incredible colour scheme. The dual tone blues are richly saturated, yet still feels very natural and not over done.
Wishing you a very happy new year,

Chefchaouen is one of the most famous cities in Morocco, but I've never been there! I imagine it must be one of the most fantastic places to discover! You have a very good shot here, I like the details and tonalities. Seems the inhabitants take good care of the city. Well managed light!
Have a great New Year!

Posted on my birthday, and I missed it! Maybe I've only just recovered... Well framed and composed of course, but you could hardly go wrong having found such a stupendous location. It's eye-popping, and I guess all you needed to do was point and shoot. I'm glad you did.

wow, now thats blue!!
it almost looks like a painting, like the blue stairs were swept with a painters brush.
funny how they still use blue for the doors but a paler color.
a great cultural photo for the unique colors and ambiance.
Just wondering...how many days did you spend her? My girlfriend and I are REALLY wanting to visit the blue city in Morocco!!! was it easy to get to?
enjoy your day

Thanks for the visit today. It didn't take but a split second to pick this out from your gallery, as blue is my favorite color. :) This is insanely cool, literally and figuratively. The turquoise and blue combination screams tropical sensation, and it's all so soothing and beautiful. The textures are amazing and the composition is solidly appealing. This is a wonderful photo, full of wonderment and intrigue. So glad to see this. Bravo!
All the best,

when did you upload so many photos and i did not notice? here is another subject worthy of many appreciations. the lively colors are indeed tempting for further "color enhancement" but that's for the ambitious PS boys. i know it is tricky, even a simple push in these electric blues creates disasters. it is beautiful as it is: chefchaouen mon amour...

What an impressive detail shot in your gallery! The blue door of the blue house looks more than eye catching in my opinion and for sure created a superb opportunity for photography. Love it! Magical place as well as your presentation. TFS!
