August in the Sahara Desert at dawn. Daytime temperatures were hitting 45c. Fortunately, I was back at the swimming pool by then. Sure, not the best time of year to go, but with the on-going problems in Egypt, Morocco made a sensible alternative to see the Sahara. Plus there are fewer tourists.

Nice desert scene with so little green all around. I like the way you defined the edge of the dune on the FG even in the absence of a very strong light.
It looks like a Martian landscape, but thanks to those tourists, the huts and the green shrubs we come back to dear old Earth.
Well taken and thanks for sharing.

LOve the picture, Brought back many happy memories(and funny ones!) of my first attempt at riding a camel.Lovely green bits of foliage that stands out well against the ocher coloured sand dunes. Well composed.

Même si tu n'as certainement pas choisi la meilleure saison pour visiter le pays, cela ne t'a pas empêché d'en réaliser une bien belle photo.

Simple image to illustrate the desert hard conditions. I like the color and the natural textures. Well seen.

I think that the sand during the day is a really cooker, 45° Celsius in shade.
Incredible that we see a nice green vegetation surrounding the sand dunes.
Excellent composition, colours and sharpness be superb
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

the heat is not always good for cameras, but since there is no film anymore - one can take photos even in mid August over the dunes.
I especially like the crescent shaped hills, move constantly by the wind - beautifully seen on this desert picture.
Have a nice weekend,

Special regards to the soft light & colors and composition!
I don't like extreme temperatures, specially hot ones, but I'd surely bear that to visit a different and exotic place!
TFS - congrats,

a shot that has impact and especially when posted in the northern hemisphere winter. Love the triangular sweeping fg that irresistibly draws you in. Gloriously simple elements and terrain here but compelling and fascinating.
Enjoy the weekend - B.

The early morning light brings a sculptured look to the dunes, which have a charm and beauty all of their own. The pastel toned sky offers a fine contrast with the golden tones of the sand. 45 degrees is extremely hot in anybody's book!

The distance between the sand dunes is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of this area of the desert. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Ciao e buon fine settimana

Back to your hotel in Morroco and the good piscine, few people and lots of super interesting possible captures at all hours of the day
More than the heat I fell here a sense of adventure at the inviting desert
Great capture of soft contrasts with the scarse vegetation
I love camels and ride them

Wow, 45 degrees...ooh not my scene at all. No wonder you didn't want to leave the pool. Beautiful strong blocks of colour, wonderful textures and superb Rule of Thirds framing. A top shot, braving the heat was worth it.

We humans are interesting lot, in the winter like today we wish for warm weather and when it's hot we wish for cooler weather. Awesome capture of this desert scene. I like the shapes of those sand dunes. Good details with wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

I can only imagine how hot it must be in August, I was here in May and it was already hot, even though it rain the night we were here and it cooled down a bit, but I could still feel the heat. It seem you may have been in a different camp than I did. It looks a bit different. This takes me back to my own trip and it was a wonderful place. I wish to visit again if I could.

Wow, 45 deg, it was rather hot:). God that you could relaxing in swimming pool. Splendid vie of the dunes. Strange that there are some green plants surviving in this heat.
mcmtanyel (7307) 2013-12-12 12:33
The heat? It looks wet! Now, I am looking at it on my phone, so I might be missing something. I like the desert tones. The lack of ripples on the dunes is noteworthy, at least, for me.
fabbs99 (13475) 2013-12-15 22:26
Nice colorful shot of the desert.Hot it must be,but cool at night.Excellent composition, good presentation too. Very well done, TFS.

I like the smooth dune in the FG contrasting with the stubbly shrubs further back. Lovely natural colours and well balanced composition. I can feel the heat!
Kind Regards, Ann
