Moulay Ismail is one of the big names of Moroccan history, he was famous because his cruelty and megalomaniac. He wanted to build a new capital to his empire and choose Meknes to do that, he wanted to make it his own Versailles.At 17th century Ismail got to build his town geting elements from the other palaces in other cities to take to Meknes. He hunted slaves in Europe and was famous to put the country united and even the Turks and European countries forget their plans to dominate Morocco.
Here we can see a curious detail of Meknes. This large corridor goes from the tumb of Ismail to another square and there is another like this ahead. Walking for hundreds of meters here is like an opressive feeling and I am sure he wanted to produce this sensation in the people.

O Mulá Ismail é um dos nomes mais importantes da história do Marrocos, sendo famoso por sua crueldade. No século 17 ele queria erguer uma nova capital para seu império, uma Versalhes. Ismail conseguiu afanar elementos de outras cidades e palácios para levar para as suas obras. Ele mandava caçar escravos na Europa e foi ele o responsável por unificar o país, mantendo os países europeus longe de sua terra bem como os turcos que ambicionavam anexá-la.
Vemos aqui um curioso detalhe de Meknes, um gigantesco corredor que vai de sua tumba até uma praça e que continua em outro corredor. Depois de caminhar por centenas de metros neste lugar sentimos uma sensação de opressão, acho que era esse o objetivo dele.
