Lost village, a photo from Ouarzazate, South

Photographer's Note

An almost lost village south Ouled Driss, near to end of the road. A particular mood in this place with very few people still living there.
I feel the B&W was a good choice to show this place.

Bonjour Yves,
un B&W qui marque bien le contrastes et les textures mais je pense que ce genre de scène préférerait les couleurs. Des ruines impressionnantes.
Les zones d'ombres sont à mon goût, un peu sombres.

Votre choix de n&b est excellent a mon avis, le seul suggestion de ma part serait de couper legerement d'en bas.

Bonjour Yves,

Le noir et blanc renforce effectivement l'impression d'un ancien village aujourd'hui abandonné, mais je pense qu'un traitement sépia n'aurait pas été mal non plus.
Les zones éclairées me paraissent juste un peu trop blanches.
Dommage que tu n'aies pas mis la version couleur en WS.

Good idea to convert to bl/w. It adds even more mystery to the scene. Strong contrasts too.

Excellent B&W choice which accentuates the play of light and shadow and the marvellous angles of the architecture. It looks like a ghost town and the monochrome again amplifies that sense of desolation and isolation. Superb shot.

A wonderfully composed and framed picture with great depth and clarity. The play of light and shadow on the old age architecture is fascinating. You have captured the lovely light in a sunny day and its caprices in an artful and impressive way.
It is placed against the sky and fills the frame superbly. The atmosphere is marvellous. Well done and thank you!

le Net B fonctionne bien sur ces murs abandonnés, mais la version couleur ne doit pas être ininteressante en particulier pour le contraste entre les murs et le ciel bleu

Le noir et blanc convient très bien à cette excellente photo, parfaitement composée et de très belle qualité. La lumière en accentue très bien le relief;

Respect your choice in black and white, focus is drawn straight to the features of the stone wall houses filling the frame nicely but there is good balanced to the sky area..The clarity is delightful picking out the textures superbly and impressive with excellent sharpness, good tonal contrast and nice shadow plays. Inclusion of the bird is a bonus. A superb image and thank you for sharing. Well done. Have a great week end

I won't go into too much about how good the quality is, we all know that by now. I seen enough of your photos.

But I don't think the black and white presentation work very well here. The features of this place is the strong red earth tone of the ruin. Anyway, but it is different and worth experimenting. You managed the light really well, and the composition is good.
