GATES OF THE SEA, a photo from El Jadida, North

Photographer's Note

This area of Portuguese city of Mazagan is named "Gates of the Sea" and it was by this place that Portuguese inhabitants of the town went away from the place 200 years after its foundation.

Esta área da cidade portuguesa de Mazagão é chamada de "Portas do Mar" e foi por aqui que a população lusa da cidade foi embora 200 anos após sua fundação.

The colors are fantastic Dear Jorge. I liked the position of the boats as well.

My only suggestion would to crop the top starting from above the flag. That seemed to work out better to focus on the boats, IMHO.

Hi Jorge,a very interesting pic,i'm seeing the colors of the boats,all the same,and different of the blue boats of Essaouira,maybe all the city had a special color for the boats too like for the taxis? nice the vertical format with the foreground red colours of the boats to lead-in the eye on the far end of the backdrop environment.I like the created depth,as the brilliant light management of the image.

Good repetition of both the boats & the gulls perched atop them. Wonderful warm vs cold colour contrasts between the red & blue. Good sharpness & superb color saturation & framing. Parabens y obrigado!

You had good intention and post a very colorful image, divided well on port, the pier, sea and other-side view.

Boats always make good subjects. I like the vivid colors of the boats. I like the misty view of the city in the back. Humans and the sea gull give some dynamism to the image. A very attractive composition.

Hola Jorge.
Fabulosa esta composicion vertical, que nos permite ver en primer plano estas barcas con sus vividos colores, en el plano medio ideal el malecon con mas barcas sobre el mismo y al fondo la linea de costa, lo cual da un gran DOF a la composicion.
El colorido de la composicion es magnifico y esta luz tamizada muy bien gestionada, da un ambiente agradable.

Olá Jorge,

barcos é um dos meus temas favoritos. Aqui teria até eexcluido todo o fundo e focado apenas nos 5 barcos do primeiro plano. Ou ainda um crop até logo acima da bandeirinha vermelha.

Belas cores e nitidez.
