In the souk's shade..., a photo from Marrakech, South

Photographer's Note

It is the morning, but the sun is already hard. The almost deserted paths of the souks are pleasant to have a walk.
It is even early, few stalls are opened (two hours less than in France, it is approximately 9 am) but nevertheless, a man installed his shop and settles down in a corner to begin his reading.

une petite merveille de photo,où j'adore l'extraordinaire jeu d'ombre et de lumière,les couleurs douces et harmonieuses se déclinant de l'or au rose,l'architecture,et la présence de l'homme solitaire.tout cela donne une ambiance follement magique,c'est superbe.

The atmosphere and colours are well reflected here, the serene ambience, the sun light through the wood curtains...the deserted shouk before the crowd coming...

Excellent capture...It reminds me my visit to the red city...in 90´s...

Tu as raison, c'est le souk! Mais on déchiffre la vie à l'ombre des canisses qui couvrent les ruelles. Enfin un peu de fraicheur!

Tu étais visiblement un peu limité côté luminosité mais ces traits de lumière méritaient bien cette photo à l'ambiance particulière et au rendu très intéressant.

j'aime bien cette capture de la lumière qui entre dans le labyrinthe du souk de marrakech. la présence de l'homme assis est un plus pour la composition

Pour être allé à Marrakech au mois d'août je me rappelle effectivement que ça tapait fort! Je crains un peu les fortes chaleurs, c'est pour cela que je préfère en général aller plus au Nord de l'Europe! lol!
Une belle ambiance créée par les jeu des lumières et la présence du marchand est bienvenue dans la composition!

Great light and tremendous use of cast shadows, looks as if the shadow is embracing this alley and swallowing it up, The way the shadows wrap around the building and a beautiful quality mellow light is real treat, bringing out the varying textures in the stonework really well. The angle of shot gives good balance with the ancient feel of it then we start wondering what's lurking round the corner! This image is about all textures, lines shadows and gorgeous warm tone, Splendid, Great shot

Karine, This shot really reminds me of La Boca in Argentina, although with washed-out colors. Love how you've framed this one. Nice framing, lighting, and lines really worked well! The man on the corner and the flag of Morocco is a plus! Nice capture!

I'm looking at your beautiful travelogue of Morocco, Karin, and this image has struck me the most. Love the streaks of light on the wall streaming down from the lattices above. A true slice of life!
