[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"Djemaa el Fna" is a square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter, the old city.
The place is the main square of Marrakesh, used equally by locals and tourists.
During the day it is predominantly occupied by orange juice stalls, youths with chained apes, water sellers in colourful costumes with leather water-bags and brass cups, and snake charmers who will pose for photographs for tourists.
As the day progresses the entertainments on offer change: the snake charmers depart, and in the afternoon and evening the square becomes more crowded, with dancing-boys, story-tellers, magicians, and peddlers of traditional medicines.
As dark descends the square fills with dozens of food-stalls, and the crowds are at their height.

Bonsoir Kris,

Quand on connait Marrakech et Djemaa El Fna cette photo est classique.
Mais celle ci a un plus par la présence de ce jeune garçon, dans sa tenue islamique, au milieu de la scène.

Symmetrical crop works very well in this photo.
I also like saturated (but not over saturated) orange colors here.

This has a magnificent composition, Kris. The frame is full of brilliant colour and rich texture, but the amazing use of symmetry is what makes this one a rare and brilliant image. regards kevin
