Photographer's Note
Just landed at Marrakech and immediately I plunged at the stunning and lively Jemaa el Fna.
Entering inside this square at night means awaken the senses, breath spices flavours, move thru a dense crowd, discovering hundreds of unusual things, listen to the music of Atlas and also appreciate the taste of the Moroccan kitchen.
After a while there I feel alive and desperately restless and eager to travel in this beautiful and welcoming country!

Great shot in such low level lighting conditions. I like your use of the telephoto lens. This market looks very lively indeed. The exposure is perfect, but what are those little blue dots?

Very good point of view, that includes fruit vendors in the foreground, and large crowd in the background. You probably used tripod to get such a clear photo with 1/30 sec exposure ?

Brilliant nightime Jemma shot and great title Luca. Details here couldn't be better. Looks to crisp for handheld. Fine work again. regards, c

Hello, Luca--
Very nice work here, really catching a strong atmosphere, the lights and smoke and crowds really give a nice feel to this one, and i like how you were able to take such a complex scene and make it simple enough to "read" well.
Thanks!

I know about this Jemaa el Fna market is very photogenic and now I see it in your gallery. Graet with the light and the composition. The layers of the mass is very well captured.

Ciao Luca,

ciauz!

Hi Luca. I wonder why you haven't received more critiques for this one. I thonk you captured wonderfully the dynamisme and teh activity of this square in Marrakech. Despite it being a night shot, colors and light are very good. Regards, Yvonne

Buona Domenica

Excellent. When I see this photo, or photos of the Djemaa el-Fna, like this it makes me wish I had an SLR in Marrakech. Great composition and the exposure is perfect. The orange and nut sellers in the front with the cooking stalls (and their numbered signs) in the back really convey a good sense of the square - just a total mess of humanity gathering in this square everynight. Why, because they can and they have for decades and probably centuries. The mass of people in the background adds to the sense of chaos. Something, I feel, you need to see in person before you can totally understand what you are looking at here. Wish this was in my portfolio.
Great work.
Good memories.
John
