[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was late afternoon in the souks of Marrakech, when the sun was shining from the back into this mediaval smith shop. I took the picture en passant without looking into the camara to not make them look at me as a photographer.

A wonderful photo, only let down by the fact that you've chopped their feet off when they would have been better included, but that is explained by your covert shooting tactics. Some will say that the picture is grainy and colours washed out, but I think these help portray the atmosphere of the souk.

Un peut trop jaune sur les visages, mais très belle image !

my monitor must be differently calbirated from the one fijiphil is looking because I find the colours to be richly saturated, imo they look great. The light shining through the window is just awesome, the always present debate about feet will never end, I personally don't have a feet fetish and don't know why they are so important to so many poeple, Henri Cartier Bresson didn't pay much attention to feet in his portraits, so you don't have to either. Here I actually think that it's more important to see the ornaments above the door frame, good aim for a hip shot.
Whites are a bit washed out but imo that;s not a big problem here.

ps. ok, now that I look at the image on another monitor I see a bit of a yellow cast, but the colours are still pretty strong.

Wow!
You tested a intelligent camera prototype!
He doesn't need you except for the carriage.
I guess the next generation'll have legs or wheels!
Very nice capture of an "out of time" moment.
Great shot!

Hi Frank,
I really love the color and tone of your pic, especially the dramatic light coming down from the back window.I'm curious about if there's any story of the two old men in the picture.
Anyway, good job!

Interesting atmosphere. I'm just wondering I you could manage to keep a decent speed and light considering the f28 aperture... What kind of film did you use ?

Tebrikler... Çok güzel...
Congratulations... It is Beautiful...

Hi Frank, this is a beautiful, timeless portrait of these two elderly men. The textures have almost the feel of a watercolour painting, the colours rich but still pastel. And that shaft of light is the gem in the composition. My only wish is that the image had been taken with the Leica Digital Module so that we could appreciate its full quality, with no loss in scanning. As it is, the veins on the hands of the man on the right are finely picked out by the Summicron. Superb. Stephen
