Hidden in cul de sac in a narrow side alley of the Marrakesh main souk, one can find the renovated 16th century Riad Cheriffa. Today a literary café with changing art exposition, it serves a small variety of culinary dishes either in the inner courtyard or on the roof terrace.
To find this hidden gem, one has to leave the beaten path behind and venture in a rather shabby side street. Once you are sure to be lost, you have to turn in to a small dead end alley filled with derelict building tools and debris. Now you are 100% sure that you have missed it and just when you want to turn back, you spot a small sign on a wooden door to ring for assistance. You can hear some noise behind the door but still have to wait for a considerable time before somebody opens the door for you. But once inside you are rewarded with a beautifully restored Riad and a calm and tranquil retreat from the busy souks.
In the WS you find two shots of the small alley you have to venture in, in order to find this marvel.

You share a secret hidden place here, and that always makes an image more special, off the beaten path and beyond the narrow lanes, secret places where the best of everything can be found, but only by those in the know. Your image certainly has a wonderful sense of calm, and the workshop of the narrow lanes gives an excellent sense of place, and a brilliant accompaniment to your note. Nicely done!

What a jewel you have found!! Surely you must have been given some advice about this place? I can't imagine that you simply came across this wonderful little place by complete chance and good fortune?
Oh, yes, what a hidden jewel - and you have captured it perefctly in your little trio of photographs. Your main picture, of course, shows us very well the interior of this delightful place but the other two workshop pictures (if we look at and examine them first) let us appreciate the anticipation of finding it!
But your main picture is the one which excels: the light in this room is wonderful and, together with the soft colours, gives it a wonderful ambience which is both peaceful and relaxing. I can imagine that this must be a fine place in which to linger, appreciate your surroundings and relax with some fine food and a little drink.
Gorgeous light and colours, good composition, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Hello Daniel, You found really a hidden gem in Marrakesh. I like here splendid lazy atmosphere, it looks like the scene from the movies. The people just enjoy to be there, not hurrying up to see as many things as possible (it is my case, you know :)). Fantastic architecture. excellent presentation.

A bright neat shot certainly does look cosy in a very interesting set up. Love the way you've done with the compo when there's a link between them making you want to look at every detail of the backdrop and imagining those vacant chairs-table and human interest, I can make out an all day breakfast on the menu and order a brew. Good tonal/colour balance and contrast between warm tones. Fabulous work- you turn a cafe scene into something really special. Congrats

What a wonderful secret place Daniel. It has such an elegant and peaceful look. I love the décor in beige and blond with the mosaics and coloured glass adding just enough colour. Beautifully photographed with clear detail and excellent light management.
