Photographer's Note

Hidden in cul de sac in a narrow side alley of the Marrakesh main souk, one can find the renovated 16th century Riad Cheriffa. Today a literary café with changing art exposition, it serves a small variety of culinary dishes either in the inner courtyard or on the roof terrace.
To find this hidden gem, one has to leave the beaten path behind and venture in a rather shabby side street. Once you are sure to be lost, you have to turn in to a small dead end alley filled with derelict building tools and debris. Now you are 100% sure that you have missed it and just when you want to turn back, you spot a small sign on a wooden door to ring for assistance. You can hear some noise behind the door but still have to wait for a considerable time before somebody opens the door for you. But once inside you are rewarded with a beautifully restored Riad and a calm and tranquil retreat from the busy souks.
In the WS you find two shots of the small alley you have to venture in, in order to find this marvel.
