Photographer’s Note
One of the three main arteries of Essaouira that heads up to the north side of the medina also known as ´mellah´or jewish quartier , that highly worths a visit to realise Jewish and Arabs have incredible appearances ...By night , the place is impregnated by a weird atmosphere with the waves breaking into the stones not far in the city old Portuguese walls , some chilling voices lost in the darkness , drug dealers with their busy trade , the local naïf artist that´s about to close the shop , some yougsters rambling ...
In Essaouira i had the feeling of staying in other Morocco with a strong dividing line between what the touristic influence side turns out to be and what the local area really is ...People is not friendly at all , some of them dragging a sort of resentment against foreigners that i had never experienced before in such wonderful country , drought and hardship make souls happier and warm , and sometimes that combination of saltpeter , fish , white and rasta culture makes people more and more violent , hassling and rude ...
