Moving on from Marrakech, we have now arrived in the blue city of Essaouira on the atlantic coast. This city of fishermen, a mere three hours bus ride from the bustling Marrakech, has a much slower pace of life and the souks in the small back alleys are more authentic there. Typical for the city are the blue doors and shutters found on every corner in the Medina.

nice the tight fame from this section of Marrakech market, with the colourful spices to contrast perfect with the blue door on the backdrop of the image.
Excellent the light and the colour management of the scene.

Great colours, exotic atmosphere and a nicely composed photo. But I can't help wondering what the salesman does with these spices at closing time. And does he build these pyramids every damn morning? And what happens on a windy day, or if anyone sneezez right beside them? Could he even sell anything without the structure collapsing?
Oh, the world is so full of marvels! :-)

This is very good shot which shows us more than the colourful pyramids of spice. The sacks of herbs and the other goods all add interest. The typical blue door was also good to have included. Very well done on using a viewpoint that has given such an interesting picture.
Kind Regards, Ann

Fascinating view, you have created excellent depth by using the spice pyramids like this. An excellent array of colors too. I must wonder though, how on earth they build these structures from powdered spice? Very cool shot, thanks as always for sharing.

What an absolutely rich and colorful scene you've put together here...looks like a box of crayons was used to color this image, I love it! So full of interesting local products and detail to go along with the large shapes. As a big fan of blue, that door caught my eye straight away, and acts as a strong background element which plays in perfect harmony though with the rest of the composition. I had to laugh right along with Gert, I thought the same things about the spice displays, original...but just how functional? :) A beauty shot! Enjoy the new week ahead. All the best.

Must be a very photographic sight in the lively souk with all the rich tapestry of local life and the spices with sensational burst of colour and aroma filling the air! A spectacular display of 'pyramids' and the like, so well shot from clever pov by having dark blue in the background to accentuate the subject matter really well. Absorbing and perfectly tidy and placement of the key elements to grab attention but what I like most is your closeness makes this a appealing popping up shot, Great shot and so easy on the eyes! and TFS

Wow you are a remarkable photographer. This scene struck me out of your many fine captures. The colors drew me to it then I was captured by the fine position and perspective with mountains of spice on the left and the vibrant door on the right. It made me want to go through the door.... Exceptional work here.....
