There are two "blue cities" in the World.
One is Jodhpur in India and the other one is Chefchaouen in Morocco.
Founded on high, misty Rif Mountains, this small blue town of 35.000 people is a Moroccan Mediterranean heaven with fresh pine flavoured air and winding steep alleys and dark narrow passages.
Also a heaven for people who like the shades of blue starting from baby blue and sky blue to indio, velvet and purple.
This is a photo from the Medina (old town), taken early in the morning. Shops are still closed and shop keepers are still arriving. I made full use of 10mm angle & 1/10 sec.s exposure handheld.

Somehow I like it very much! It's simple and seems perfectly sharp for being 1/10 exposure. Nice note, I just want to add a small comment to it. We have a town in Norway that we call "the blue city" because practically the whole city center is painted blue. The population is only 10,000 though, but wanted to mention :) It's called Sortland. Cok güzel, TFS!
Have a nice day,

Again, I want to go there!!
Great catch, and the slow shutter speed makes it so much better, with the man´s movements, rushing off somewhere.

I like here the contrast between the static washed out blue wall and the dynamic somewhat blurred man in his white djellabah
However not sure about 1/10s ! I cant see on such a small image but what about the sharpness on the wall due to motion blur of the camera itself ?
maybe would have been enough to shoot at 1/30s to ensure sharpness of still objects and still keep the blur on the man in motion, dont you think ?
Best regards, have a nice evening

I am sure this must be a pleasure to visit such an original an unique blue city! Your image gives us a great example how it looks but I know that this is only a small piece of the picture. Very well seen and captured scene. Perfectly managed light and colors. Like it!

Hi MERHABA dear Deniz!
Great effcet by slow shutter speed setting, that makes him blurred, so effcetvie and impresive at all. Blue and white color touch is also so wonderful to see.
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Takero from Tokyo

You have returned from Morocco I see - how was the trip?
I have heard so much of the blue facades of this city, and it is illuminated beautifully here. You have found some inspiration here I can see from this great composition.

I once travelled to Chefchaouen, unfortunately before digital photogrpahy!
I was amazed by the colours and the beauty of this old town.
Your choice for a slow shutterspeed, cathing the movement of the man, is supperb!

I previously noticed this shot on which I like a lot the color impact. Of course the blue on the walls but also the white suit giving a nice contrast.

I've rather enjoyed going through your pictures, so many good works! I chose this one because blue is my favorite color, so this obviously stands out in the crowd. :) Love the composition, and most of all the textures...this looks like a picture you could reach out and feel. The blurred motion is a splendid touch of life against a bold backdrop of color and form. A solid composition and very well executed presentation. Thanks for sharing the view. Have a great day.
All the best,

Hello Deniz. Good composition, strong colors and a successful deal with sharpness and movement. In addition, the colors complement each other perfectly.

I remember this city of blue well from when I visited there. I like your use of wide angle here to fit in 3 of those fabulous doors, and the blur movement of the man entering the frame is great to give a bit of dynamism to the shot. The fringe of the roof tiles added in at the to is a nice detail element to top it all off.
InasiaJones (31562) 2013-05-20 9:50
Very well executed image, where just like with your mosque photo, your composition was perfectly framed, ready to welcome the proper subject to fit in.
The way this man is dressed create the desired contrast against the colourful background, and the blur movement is nicely controlled, without excessive vagueness, but just enough to achieve the sense of motion.
The slanted cobblestoned street and the doors trio are a bonus, bringing character and unicity to your shot.
The kind of image where heavily filtered light is actually a blessing.

ok.I think you´ve just found for me one of my next destinations.
Blue looks always great and here combined with the white color of his clothes gives the scene its expressiveness.
And besides beautiful colors and great lighting my friend, not even mention about POV:)
Have a good day
