A view from one of the oldest districts of Tangier.
Tanger can be easily reached from Tarifa by modern ferries (WS). It only takes 35 minutes to cross the Strait of Gibraltar.

It is a very nice shot. Tanger is a town with many references in the Portuguese history as it is all Morocco.
One curious thing is to see the flowers in the background. Those flowers are common along the Cascais railway, between Paço de Arcos and Cruz Quebrada, on the left hanside Lisbon direction!
Good WS too. I like the way you framed it.
All the best for 2009.

Hello Tolga,
Interesting city architecture and textures that shows different world. I envy your location because you have great opportunity now to visit more mystical places with a trip in just 35 minutes. Your workshop post is very informative too. Congratulations.

Hi Tolga
Nice gate; it seems we are entering the Maghreb.
I have a photo from Lisbon (Alfama) to post that it's also an arch or gate with palms in background. Maybe it is not just coincidence.
I noticed that the name of Morocco in Turkish is Fas, maybe from the city of Fes, while in Portuguese is Marroccos, from the city of Marrakesh (Marakeş).
Greetings,
Francisco

Hi Tolga. Nice composition. That palm tree almost seems to be part of the arch. It would be better if the clothes of the man made some contrast but that's nothing you can do about. Only those wires don't look so good to me and I made a WS. Hope you don't mind. Regards. Paulo

Tolga Bey Merhaba,
Sayenizde öğrendim 35 dakikada Fas'a geçebileceğimi.Ön taraftaki kemere doğru yürüyen modeliniz arkadaki inanılmaz doğa , tek kelimeyle harika, diğer Fas karelerinizi de merka ediyoruz.
Tebrikler, iyi haftasonları,

Olá Tolga,
At first it looks just a banal, yet nice, snapshot, but after looking more carefully, I find that the POV is very clever. Making a relatively centred compo with a slanted POV doesn't always result, but here it does wonderfully. Te red flowers bring a very nice colour touch and make a pretty contrast with the green of that garden. I like also the presence of the man and it's only pity that he is dressed in white, not detaching himself from the stone wall.
I like also very much the WS. The colourful dresses of the women make it very attractive and there is a certain atmosphere of "waiting for the arrival of dear ones" or an expectation of "I wish I could embark on that boat". As far as I know, polygamy is illegal in Morocco, or at least it is very rare, but I can't help smiling while thinking that is commonly said that Koran allows a man to have four wives.
I am very fond of Morocco in general and Tanger in particular. I hope you had a nice time there.
Um abraço, José.

Hello Tolga,
Well seen and very well caught picture: We are literally drawn inside it. >The red flowers add a lot of punch to it.

Hi Tober,
such a clever capture of is scenery. The arch forms into a natural framing. The guy in the robe are so clear and sharp as much as the palms and red flowers.
Very livwly presentation of the Morocco people.
regards,
Foozi
