Photographer’s Note

Happy new year everyone.

This photo was taken inside the citadel in the old town of Rabat within the walls. This place used to be the home of pirates who would terrorise the seas as far away as the americas.

The city of raba is very photogenic, lots of things to see, and photograph.

They really love the blue! It is on the walls, the woman’s slippers and the girl pants and shoes.

Hi Daniel,
She really looks like she is having fun! Nice diagonal line of the stairs and well balanced with her mom standing in the doorway, and of course the bright blue colour stands out and attracts the eye. A nice scene.

Very nice and colorful shot - The composure on both the child and the mother is excellent as well as the combination of colors (the orange dress) really works here...compositional wise, there is a good perspective that leads toward the viewer, the child jumping down that line...

Hi Daniel--This is a nice storytelling shot which is colorful in more ways than one; both in the sense of the vivid blues and oranges and in the colorfulness of the interaction of parent and child. A nice composition which connects the two people though they are on opposite sides of the frame. Regards, Ken.

Hello Daniel,

Funny how the vases were painted with the same paint as the wall. In fact even the child's trousers and the woman's slippers are similar in paint;-) But the best thing about the picture is the laughter on these people's faces. A good shot!

Hola Daniel:
Antes que nada, como haces para tomar tantas fotos con gente? Les preguntas primero si se dejan fotografiar o simplemente apuntas, compones, disparas y te vas? Es que aquí se ve muy natural la niña jugando y la otra persona en la puerta.
Esta imagen tiene también cierto ánggulo como el comentario que me hiciste de la foto de la callecita en BCN.
Bien usado el azul + blanco, y sobretodo el diagonal de la escalera que va de esquina a esquina en la imagen.
También tomaré en cuenta esto para mis próximas fotos, usar más diagonales. Debo hojear algunos libros de fotografía para tomar ideas, cosa que no tengo tiempo mientras hago el doctorado. No da tiempo ni de leer libros casi.

Bonne Annee! J'espere qui tout va bien. Je vois qui tu etait au Marroque pendant les vacances de fin d'annee. On n'etait pas tres loin. On est alle passe des vacances en Mauritanie.
J'aime beucoup cette photo! La fillette heureuse, les maisons bleus. Cette une photo qui degage l'espoir et la joie de la nouvelle annee qui vien de commencer.

Ótima foto desta morada de detalhes interessantes e cores bem fortes em tom de azul. Gosto da criança que desce a escada...ela veste azul mas tem a blusa vermelha que quebra a monotomia das cores.
