Photographer’s Note

The Hassan Tower, the grandiose minaret of a vast yet incomplete mosque, is Rabat’s most famous landmark. Begun in 1195, the minaret was intended to be the largest in the Muslim world, soaring some 86m (260ft) into the sky. Construction was abandoned, however, upon the death of the sultan, Yacoub al-Mansour, in 1199 and the tower instead rises to just 44m (140ft). Two hundred columns mark out the area where the mosque was to stand. Today, the site also houses the Mosque and Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the grandfather of the present king of Morocco, which is one of the few sacred sites in the country that non-Muslims are allowed to enter.

Marrocos tem construções muito interessantes e esta é uma delas.

Hi Leonor, you have choosen a great point to shot this photo and with a very good composition with these trees in front of this tower, the people inside the photo and with htis sky as background all this result works very nice.

Olá Leonor, curiosamente estive aqui numa passagem de ano, há muitos anos atrás e lembro-me bem desta torre na capital política de Marroco. Interessante composição central com a torre ladeada pelo que resta das paredes da mesquita que me fazem lembrar as construcções de terra em África. O contraste com o céu azul é bonito.

Hi Leonor,
The lighting is excellent for this shot, and I like your decision to provide a large proportion of sky here, the blue of which contrasts well with the warm tones of the buildings. The trees in the foreground nicely frame the scene. Well done.

A very good shot of the tower, that, together with the other walls, stands very well out against the blue sky. The light is fine too and I like the inclusion of the trees. Good work!

Esta foto faz-me sentir saudades de Marrocos. Boa perspectiva com a torre e as muralhas. A luz ficou bastante boa!

Me alegro mucho ver mas fotos de tu viaje, en esta ocasion la mezquita se ve con su torre de una manera imponente, tiene muy buenos colores y el azul del cielo realza su interesante arquitectura. Muy buen punto de vista y composicion. Gracias por tu nota.

Olá Leonor,

Como se costuma dizer por aqui, "quem é vivo sempre aparece", não é mesmo? É bom encontrá-la de novo.
Pelo que vejo andou apreciando a Primavera no Mediterrâneo... Espero que se tenha divertido.

Coincidência engraçada: publicou esta foto exactamente um ano menos um dia depois de eu ter estado nesse mesmo local; algumas dos meus primeiros posts no TE foram tirados aí.

Gosto muito do POV, principalmente pela originalidade - nunca tinha visto deste ângulo. Talvez ficasse ainda melhor se estivesse um pouco mais descentrada. Noto tb. um efeito estranho que faz parecer a torre mais inclinada do que resulta naturalmente do POV baixo (será da sombra?).

Mas apesar disso é uma bela foto.
