Inside the Casbah of the Oudayas one comes across on section where the colours change from the earthy ochres to the vivid bule. The little streets are narrow and at times one feels as if one is immersed in a sea of blue. What made the experience even more unique, was the absence of locals. Maybe they were having a siesta. It took some time before this boy appeared in my view finder- he seemed to be some sort of delivery person walking with determined steps and carrying some item in his hand. The good thing for me was the red he added to all the blue.
Lonely Planet review for Kasbah des Oudaias
This occupies the oldest part of the city, the site of the original ribat, and commands powerful views over the river and ocean from its cliff-top perch. The kasbah is predominately residential and the narrow streets are lined with whitewashed houses - most of which were built by Muslim refugees from Spain. It's a tranquil and picturesque place to wander and there's no need for a guide. Ignore anyone who advises you that the kasbah is 'forbidden.'

This is a very pleasant view. Indeed, the blue below matching the skies above has given this photo a unique appeal. The inclusion of the red sweater is very nice, I suspect you could draw a bit more red out of it with post-processing.
My wife and i were in Morocco last March. Unfortunately we did not see such blue skies - they were mostly grey. Our best (few) days were partly cloudy.

This is a fascinating view of this narrow street with its blue and white painted walls. Well done for catching the person in red in a very good position in the frame. Very sharp image and well handled light - a delightful image.
Kind Regards, Ann

Lovely narrow street. How I like to stroll around such a maze! And all people paint the houses it white blue, no one wants to have it for instance white yellow. Impossible in my country. Even the cables have its charm here.
Have a nice week

this alley is really interesting and you presented it superbly with great depth and nice sharpness. The walking-man is a bonus to you. Nice composition with superb white-blue contrast... Tfs.

J'aime beaucoup cette photo d'atmosphère car en plus d'être belle elle raconte une histoire. Le sujet est parfaitement placé dans cette mer de bleu et de blanc.

posle niza dokumentarnih najzad i jedna "umetnička".

Those blues indeed match well. That narrow alley looks quite charming on this light, sunshine on the left side walls add good contrasts.

I do like the red sweater in this surreal maze of blue & white!
The alley is so narrow, he looks like he is walking into a game. This looks more like a painting than a photograph, but I like the affect you have achieved here, Klaudio ~ very cool p.o.v.

There is something otherworldly in those empty narrow streets with just one person in the shade. Including the human figure makes this image special and I bet you're glad you waited!

Fine title for this picture from Rabat. In thumbnail it seems Greek town with their traditional colors. Excellent composition as a result of so clever point of view. Perfect DoF!
Have a great new week!

what an excellent photo from Morocco, reminds me so much of the area of Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia.
So how long did you have to wait for the man to come into the scene? and did you purposely wait? if so, it was a good idea. Its one of those times where having that human presence really does make a strong positive impact.
I'll have to keep this place in mind when i someday travel to this country.
beautiful photo in this sea of blue :)

All Blue and White, I love your composition, Im wondering and looking deep into the narrow alley letting the single soul guides me in. The aged enclosed buildings and their details is just wonderful that speaks volumes of a time gone by and you have done a wonderful work capturing it. Thks for sharing, Congrats

looking at your picture the windows to the left came into my memory. We've visited incidentally nearly the same places this year. Although it is the same place the pictures are very different. I like the tones of blue in your picture and the criss cross of the wires.

Klaudio, the Casbah of the Oudayas is probably one of the most picturesque and in the same time difficult to photograph places I've ever seen. I do know how hard it is to make a good photo of the very hard light conditions, curved walls, not willing to pose people and other disturbing elements. Despite of all that, your photograph is a very good one. I like the way the narrow street leads the viewer's sight to the the very far background. The tree on the roof is also very well spoted. Congrats :)

Mnogo mi se svidja fotografija. To je vrlo uska ulica neka :)Boje i kadar su bas kako treba. Da je crno-bela bio bi to Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Charming blue-white atmosphere in the casbah. This young man adds some life. You've waited the perfect moment to take the photo, he's well placed in the framing.

a very interesting and charming scene from the Qasbah, the tranquility and picturesquness mentioned in the Lonely Planet review is wonderfully portrayed in your inviting picture. There's a great sense of intimacy and mystery too as we are watching the man immersing into the alley and feel that daily life is actually taking place behind these walls at the moment. There's wonderful depth and clarity into this intriguing neighbourhoos as well as a delightful and fascinating play of light, shade and attractive blue tones. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely week,
