Photographer’s Note
Meknes is much more laid back than either Marrakesh or Fes. Nowhere do you get large tourist crowds or pushy sales people.
Opposite the main square is the grand gateway of Bab el-Mansour. You can't actually walk through the gateway - you have to go through a side entrance that you share with the (light) traffic. The gateway has the usual exquisite Moroccan stone carving and decoration. Standing in front of the gateway was a man wearing green in great contrast to the subdued colours of the rest of the scene. He made a good focus for the photo.

Hi Ian ---------->
Interesting picture, good details of color,
light and calm ambience, I think that you
have obtained a good photo although perhaps
the framing could be improved.
A greeting and on happy Saturday.

Hi Ian,
You got the right light on the front of this magnificent building to really bring out the details. The relief work looks like it has a drop shadow on it.
Nicely composed, using the man in green works really well. How much did you pay him to stand there :))
Cheers

Hello Ian.
Apart from the slouching figure, clad in jeans, behind the pillar, time could have stood still here. It's a wonderful well timed capture, with the man in green a small but significant - and significantly SMALL - highlight, dwarfed by these magnificent buildings. Exquisite detail and lovely blue sky.
Regards,
Andrew
