Photographer’s Note
Volubilis - getting towards the farthest extension of the Roman empire in north west Africa.
It was the centre of a farming area and where the Romans introduced olives to Morocco.
Set on a small hill Volubilis, these day, looks out over rich farming areas which are a verdant green in Spring when this photo was taken. Rain was threatening so no great blue sky! Just a Roman gate, green fields and grey clouds.

Hello Ian,
The Romans were incredible, they wrote the large ones and long pages of an enthralling History. This monument which survives in the middle of the countryside of a very different country culturally is astonishing. Very good image in spite of light an attenuated, good clearness too. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hi Ian, you did well despite the fast disappearing light. The arch is well-contrasted and well-exposed with great depth of field. The people add dynamism and give a good sense of scale and perspective. TFS and have a happy week, Lisa.

Hi Ian
Great shot of this roman gate, they really did like building things. Good composition looking through the gate into the bright green fields and moody sky.

Hi Ian,
An impressive structure, the Romans were an industrious culture, they really knew how to make a statement.
Even without the sunlight you've made a good job of this capture, I like the perspective you've chosen. The slightly to one side angle has worked well.
Good stuff.
Regards
Peter
