This man was in silent prayer. He was in a quiet corner in a souk in Fez. The atmosphere of this shot is meditative and since I don't have extraordinary lens, I had to come very close to him to take this shot. Fortunately, he didn't notice me but since I had to be in a hurry, this was the only shot I took of him.
(auto-adjustments, unsharp mask, saturation, brightness and contrast. no blurring of background to show the play of lights and shadow)

Excellen photo, Manuel. I can hear the silence in this scene. Excellent framing and angle. Texture of the white clothing is well seen. Good job, I like it very much.

yup, this is good, you really like various types of light.. the scene is very good, well composed, all those shadows and bright spots and stripes give a specific, sleepy atmosphere... in fact I would think the guy is sleeping not praying.. nice photo!

Interesting shot. The light is may be to harsh, but nothing to do. Still this is very nice. I can feel it.

I like that "light from heaven" symbolism of this shot very much. I also like the atmosphere, the pose of the man and how there are only ”two colors” in the image. Very well seen and captured.

Well seen, and dared. The light plays with his white clothing in a nice way. You really captured a solemn look.

Excellent shot, Manuel. Given that you were in a hurry, this looks pretty much perfect to me. The symbolism of the light from above (aptly used in your picture title) adds a lot to the atmosphere of your composition. Wonderful work.

The longer I look at this, the more I like it. It has a very gentle and unassuming quality.

I'm looking and looking to it, scroll it up and down, and can't get enough. The play of light and shadow, the textures - one aspect.
His hands, his position, the fact that you could came so near without to be observed - an other one.

This is a very good, moody photo Manny. Perhaps it would be better if we were able to see some more of his face, especially some details in and around the eye, but I really like everything else about this shot, and I realy think you did a good job in the short time you had to take this.

Fine job! The light setting is suberb and the meditating man is as you describe in a "natural position" for the shot.

Exelent framin in this photo. I really like how the man takes up more or less the whole area of the photo. I think the shadows are really intresting in the way they create structure in the gown.

i like this picture very much. very sensitive and meditative as you said. we can feel the quietness of the moment . very difficult shot i guess, lightwise. the light seems to have been put exactly on the right spots. nice shot! by the way yoiu use often IMHO, what does that mean??

I like very much the way you render ambiance in your shots, particulary this one where light and shadows are painting the silence...

Also contemplative. Do you know we tend to look down and out instead of up and above, when things are so depressing. Seeing him through your lens, make me wonder how God looks at him. Then again,God doesn't need to look at him. He is well deep in his heart.
