Photographer's Note

In the souks of Fès, each district have his own speciality: pottery, carpet, wrought iron, tannery, dyers, etc...
The picture show the famous souk of the tanners.
Founded in the 9th century, Fès is the oldest of the four imperials moroccans cities (with Rabat, Meknès & Marrakech).
During centuries, the city was the cultural and religious centre of the muslim occident ("Maghrib" in arabic). The oldest university of the world stands here, and the medina is registred in the UN World Heritage since 1981.

Bonjour.
Aussi loin que je me souviennes, c'est le premier polaroid que je trouve sur TE !
Les couleurs un peu passees, et la qualite du scan n'arrivent cependant pas a en diminuer l'interet et j'avoue qu'elle a attire tout de suite mon oeil de part son originalite. Peut-etre d'ailleurs que ces "defauts" sont aussi responsable de l'atmosphere un peu melancolique qui s'en degage.

Superbe photo. On a l'impression de se replonger dans le passé à cause des couleurs délavés qui ajoute du charme à cette composition. Merci

Excellent. The reddish tone works fantastically with the ruins of this city. It really suggests a 19th century Fes.
