Hassan II Mosque

The architecture of the Hassan II Mosque is as impressive as any European cathedral. It was opened in 1993 and is located direct on the Atlantic coast. It is the second largest religious buildings in the Arabic world after Mecca with a space of 25.000 worshippers inside and 80.000 outside. The minaret has a height of 210m and the top is enlightened in the night. Designed by French architect Michel Pinseau, you could see the answer of the Koranic phrase "the throne of God lies on the water." Part of floor of this facility is glass so worshippers can kneel directly over the sea. The roof of the mosque could be opened during prayers when it gets too hot.

A very impressive building you show us here with lovely architectural building. The people dotted about give a very good sense of scale. The tones are a bit sombre but that perhaps adds to the mood of the scene and certainly does not detract from the architecture. Very good clarity.

Hallo Achim!
Ja man muß früh aufstehen um ein Bild eines berühmten Bauwerkes mit wenig oder gar keinen Menschen/Touristen auf Film oder Chip bannen zu können.Dein POV ist toll und die geometrischen Schatten gestalten den Vordergrund interressanter.Gute Tiefe und Schärfe.Mir gefällt die Atmosphäre mit den dunklen Tönen sehr gut.

I see you've been travelling recently, so we'll get nice 1001 nights views to come, this mosque is very impressive considering its size relative to the people, overall impression is a bit dark but you have challenging highlights at the top of the tower, if you have a RAW file you might be able to gain some more brightness on the stones and sky.

Schönes Bild, die Komposition gefällt mir sehr gut.
Der blaue Himmel sieht toll aus und mact einen guten Kontrast zum restlichen Teil des Bildes. Die Schärfe ist gut, mir gefällt deine Perspektive und der kleine weiße Rahmen passt super zu dem Bild.

We can see by the tiny people how huge this mosque is. The light was very challenging but the detail you have captured is very good, as the sheer size of the place forced you well back in order to get it all in the frame. Well done

ein erstaunliches Gebäude und das Foto verstärkt noch den Eindruck: kalt, vornehm, gigantisch. Neben der einwandfreien Schärfe muss ich auch verzerrungsfreie Wiedergabe (bei 17 mm Brennweite!) loben.

What a superb blue sky !!! The place is really impressive and in particular this minaret with the imposing size. Framing gives a good depth to the image. The little of people on the place creates a particular atmosphere. Thank you for the note.
