My third photo from Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, taken inside the huge colonnade surrounding the mosque. I was fascinated by the size of the monument, and every architectural detail of it. Then i realized some locals passing by, and this one is one of the many photos with the locals therein, while i preferred to share this one, because the location of the lady is the best to emphasize the depth and size of the structure. People are definitely dwarved by the huge marblework...
The Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is the 7th largest mosque in the world. Its minaret is the world's tallest at 210 metres. It is almost brand new, completed in 1993. The mosque stands on Atlantic Ocean coast, the oceanic waves literally hitting its walls. A maximum of 105,000 worshippers can gather together for prayer: 25,000 inside the mosque hall and another 80,000 on the mosque's outside grounds.

Good Morning Deniz - The scale of the mosque is breathtaking and I can imagine that religious devotees feel suitably in awe of their god when they worship here! A superb shot; the detailing is exceptionally good and I love the line of repeating columns and arches which tower over the pink lady. I wonder if you had to wait long for this woman to add the finishing touch to a finely composed frame.
Take care and warm regards Rosemary

Selam sevgili Deniz,
Bu da güzel olmuş ! Ama verdiğin isim daha da güzel.
Gerçekten de neredeyse monokrom bir ortamda pembe brunuslu hatun ayrı bir tad katmış kareye.
Selam ve sevgiler

Very beautiful, interesting and attractive picture!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, chosen pov and symmetric composition are all excellent photo qualities that really pleased me!
The details of those internal arches are wonderful and the presence of that woman is very welcome, because it also gives us a good sense of scale of that place!
TFS - congrats,

love this! So graphical, symmetrical, beautiful and captured so masterfully. I love the human interest here it is perfectly placed, adds scale, intrigue and that little something extra that we all strive for in our images. Stunning - well done!

This is a wonderful composition. The perfectly squre crop gives prominence to all aspects of the architecture, which by itself also gives excellent depth to the picture through the pillars, vaults and pattern of the fllor. Still, it's amazing what one person can contribute to a photo by just her presence, in this case also her colours, contrasting so perfectly with the green tiles and the brown wall, and her position just off centre, that breaks the otherwise perfect symmetry just enough to give the view an interesting dynamism.

Excellent architecture shot with a long perspective of pillars
good use of the eye catching pink lady at the end of the perspective
best regards, have a nice day

one has just admire how beautiful this simple composition is. The tiny silhouette of the woman stands out mostly beacuse of the pink color of her robe. The depth created by perfect DOF and perfectly chosen point of view is just striking. Amazing colors and light.

Irresistible perspective provided by these stunning colonnades and oriental arches.
You obviously took your time by meticulously placing yourself to create this impeccably symmetrical composition. I appreciate your quest for perfection, as this location deserves it. The perspective effect is very powerful, inescapably leading to the lady in pink. The format is well adapted to the scene.

Hi, It is incredible photo. The woman looks so tiny, did she really was there or you cloned her from somewhere, joking of course, but it is so stunning. It is really huge. I love the shape of the arches and their colour.
I was there but it was long time ago when this mosque was still in construction. I read amazing things about it: The central hall is centrally heated, and provides spectacular underwater views of the Atlantic Ocean. The prayer hall is built to a rectangular plan of 200 metres length and 1,000 metres (???) width with three naves. The roof is retractable, illuminating the hall with daytime sunlight and allowing worshippers to pray under the stars on clear nights. It weighs 1100 tons and can be opened in five minutes. Have you seen all this? I remember that in Morocco the non muslim couldn't enter any mosque. But you could pretend :). all these photos, yours and Klaudio's make me wish to go there once more.

This is a very beautiful place, and the angle you chose here is superb to show its depth and its wonderful arches to perfection. I always admire the artistic touches of the mosaics in such place, and here there is plenty of that to enjoy here. Stunning colours from top to bottom and the light is managed perfectly.
Love your idea to include the devotee in pink, it does serve to show the scale so well. Beautiful shot.

Have a nice evening/
ps. I am curious about your 10-20mm lens. Are you happy with it? Is it sharp? Quality at 10mm?

The colours of the dress of the woman are a beautiful element in this beige marble world.
Her presence gives us a good indication of the size of the columns and the arches. With her head this woman is reaching only just above the top edge of the green tiles.
The size of the Hassan II Mosque is really imposing.
Best regards, Paul

Perfect symmetry - not inappropriate for a place of worship - and beautiful depth. It would work well without the pink figure in the distance, but its inclusion breaks up the symmetry just enough to take our eyes from the centre-line, and adds that important human element. Good work.
KristinsCamera (2373) 2014-01-23 6:52
i am feeling a bit redundant stating this, but here's another beautifully symmetric and gorgeous photo from you ~ so perfect yet again. the mosque itself is stunning, i love the colors and the tile work. i also like the twist the door (yes?) at the end seems to take. very smart to keep the girl in pink ~ not only does she give it perspective, she brings a necessary human touch to what could otherwise be simply a great architectural shot. lovely.

Harika bir simetri ve grafiksellik. Tebrikler.
macjake (48363) 2014-01-25 3:41
wonderful photo here my friend, and this is certainly one of those times where having that 1 singular person in the scene only makes it that much better.
and how perfect that they're wearing Pink, its as if she's your model for the scene and you placed her there yourself :)
Love the green and blue patterns at the bottom of each column, they are such effective guildlines for our eyes to follow into the depth of the shot.
awesome photo! wouldn't change anything at all.
have a fine weekend

Merhaba dear young Deniz
I just love the architecture of mosques and what a beauty this one is. The ceramic tiles on the floor are amazing and guide the eye towards the little girl in pink, like lights on an airport runway. She certainly adds a sense of scale and also a dash of un-uniform colour. The perspective is superb as are the beautifully depicted repeating arches. The clever play of light and shade give an extra dimension to the image. Lovely shot and I am enjoying your series on this beautiful mosque.
daddo (21280) 2014-03-05 2:45
Selam Deniz. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the shapes, colours and tiles for I knew where you were- where i too stood and admired the majesty of the place.I like the title and the symmetry in the photo befitting the mosque complex. Best wishes. Klaudio.
