As I mentioned earlier, photographing people in Morocco is very difficult since, like people anywhere where tourists flock, the locals have developed a sixth sense as far as strangers with cameras are concerned.
When I saw this bright vision I had to take a photo even if the composition is not the best in terms of the position of the young woman. If I had moved more to the left, I would possibly have aroused her ire. So I did what I could using my zoom lens. But once I took this photo and then another, she looked at me with a direct gaze, her face impassive. When I gestured a thank you, she gave me a little nod as if to say, "I know that you could not resist taking a photo and that is fine by me."
By the way, there is nothing wrong with her nose, it's a wisp of her black hair that has fallen in front of her face.

interesting story about photographing in Morocco... Really tough. It happens in many villages of india also. They think if you captured them by camera some of his/her part will stays with it. It may decrease the life of the respected people... May there be some different ideas...
Here in your shot I like all about it, though it can be bettered using some other POV. But now we all know where is the problem... Light is superb. Great sharpness. The lady in red is really a nice focal point of your composition along with the beautifully designed background. Superb shot I must sby, really enjoyable... Tfs.

molto bello questo scatto, la donna attira l'attenzione con il suo vestito rosso, che contrasta con il resto della scena, inoltre ci da le dimensioni della costruzione, sembra cosė piccola nel confronto.

This photo has nice calm atmosphere to it. The bright red dress contrasts nicely with the blue geometric pattern on the wall. Classic Islamic architecture and design.

A little bit small risk take a picture of a woman in Morocco.
But you picture is very nice with lovely decorative wall behind the lady.
We see almost all details and perfect colours.
Nice depth and perspective picture.
Very well done, TFS.

to my mind the young lady couldn`t have been better positioned, this composition works very well and of course being dressed in red makes a perfect subject against the beautiful BG.
Given that the shot was taken surreptitiously it`s worked very well.Well done.

Of course you couldn't resist this photo, considering the perfect colours and perfect light, and of course you would have prefered her more to the right, or facing the other direction if that had been possible. It's a beautiful picture anyway and I am sure you're very happy to have it. I've never been to Morocco, but I have read many comments recently, by you and others, on how difficult it is to take pictures of people there. It surprises me, because Istanbul, for instance, is a very touristic place and also Muslim, but I've never experienced any problems there. Even in Afghanistan long ago street-shooting was quite easy, and that is a very conservative country, however not overrun by tourists.

what a great shot you took here.
So good that I wish I was there to capture the same thing!
Did you have to wait long, or were you waiting at all? Seems like a smart place to just park it and wait for an attractive woman or a colorful outfit to enhance the scene. Thats exactly what you have here.
beautiful backdrop, bright crimson reds, I really like this one.

You strike the jackpot here! I am struck by the poignancy of this shot and all the adjectives are out......
and needless to comment much.
Gem of this beauty speaks itself through our logical mind!
Have a great day, My compliments

I like this composition and for me the position of the girl is perfect. i couldn't resist taking such photo either. how fine is the contrast of her red dress and the column. beautiful mosaic of this fountain.
I do not know why in Morocco they are so unfriendly against photographers. Usually you can't make photos in the mosques and also the women do not like to be photographed (or maybe their husbands). And in Tunisia there are no problems, the girls were quite happy posing for me. And Tunisia is very touristy. Also in Syria there were no problems.

Good Morning Klaudio,
A delightfully candid shot.
I know what you mean about taking photographs surreptitiously. People can get quite angry or they smile inadvertently and spoil the shot. This is a beauty. She appears deep in thought, with a b/g that perfectly suits quiet contemplation. What a scenario you have conjured up!
Have a great day,

A superb scene with a splendid background. The red clothes of the woman is for sure the main attraction spot.
Have a good evening.

Hello Klaudio - What a lovely DL shot. I actually like the position of the woman as I think it adds an element of narrative to the shot. To me the crossed arms and her position in the corner and the fact that she is facing the wall indicates the fact that she has no wish to engage with anybody or the environment she is in. Fanciful perhaps but that is what she says to me. A fine shot with superb detail and colours. Warm regards rosemary

Civilisation has its price and often I feel, we are the worst polluter. Certainly in developing nations like Laos nobody talks about environment protection, but most of them do not know better. How many of them can afford to shop in the market. When it domes to detergent, most will use soap if they have it, or go back to traditional ways to clean the cloths, using sand or similar what ever is available for free.
Indeed it is not so easy to photograph people, but for that I dress accordingly, dark, nobody will see you only when it is too late, using a pre-set setting and just shooting without long framing.
Nonetheless your shot of this women leaning on a water pool is stunning. Well done

Without her sitting there I could imagine the scale of this place being much smaller. Beautiful patterns and round forms. She is well placed and red colour makes strong contrast.

What a moment! I'm really impressed of this charming and perfectly executed composition. Beautifully done and well observed. Bravo!

Glad to see you managed to capture this special moment! The splash of red looks wonderful on the muted colour background and contrasts nicely with the mosaic in the other half of the image.

great shot at Hassan II. mosque. I've bee there too in this year's march. You are right, Morocco is not easy for a photographer. Most of the people don't like to be taken on a picture.

wonderful capture this scene of this young lady against magnificent architecture with amazing mosaics. Fabulous composition. Perfectly well done.
Waylim (25368) 2013-08-08 18:29
Your recent photos from Morocco takes me back to my trip there. Brings back lot of wonderful memories. This is an excellent shot. The details of the architecture and mosaic wall and fountain alone would have make a good photo. The presence of the lady in the bright red traditional outfit adds so much more local flavor and essence of Moroccan culture. Only a penny for her thought? This photo is worth a lot more :)
KristinsCamera (2373) 2013-08-21 20:58
an unusual and irresistible moment you have captured here, klaudio ~
from my scandinavian background, she almost looks like a little christmas elf that has been caught napping in the corner :)
although she has been made tiny by the lovely mosaics, she is the center of attention with her vibrant red outfit.
i am happy she gave you the non-verbal eye nod of consent for the photograph, for this is a magical moment that you have captured. well done :)

I love this elegant picture with the warmth and mystery added by the human presence. The design, textures and colours of the setting are enchanting and the lady has an elegant and peaceful presence that captivates. I like very much how her posture reflects the architectural pattern above her. She stands out but is also superbly integrated in this setting. The softness of the colours and of the shadows is alluring and atmospheric. Your note enhances the fascination of this scene and fills it with a mesmerising feeling of tension. You've surely managed to capture a sense of timelessness with this quick and anxious capture. Very fine work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great week,

Congratulations on this eye-catching shot. Despite working under constraints, you achieved a great composition. Lines, details, and a bright subject on the third, a great outcome!
Warm greetings from Copenhagen!

I love how you've composed the image and great perspective. The red colour of women's dress is another great visual element giving special effect to the photo.
