Watermelon would have to be one of my favourite fruits in summer as it goes back to my earliest memories when in Dalmatia my grandfather's deep well served as a fridge. We would lower the watermelon in a bucket to cool. Those were the sweetest watermelons I ever had, maybe because childhood memories tend to be so strong.
During my recent trip to Morocco I saw watermelons being sold everywhere. Luckily the juicy and sweet fruit was served in the hotels where we stayed and I must say that Moroccan watermelons are very sweet. As sweet as the Dalmatian ones you may ask.Well,...
This photo was taken from the bus somewhere in Casablanca.

nothing is as sweet as childhood memories :)
good morning, klaudio ~
great work catching this from the bus! it's lovely in the sunlight and perfectly framed. whoever is selling these (represented by the hat below i guess) is smart to accent the greens with some fresh red flowers, adding a nice punch (and a little romance) to your shot :)
sweetly seen, indeed!

The line of green watermelons provide, together with te red flowers at one side and the blue bag at the other, the only colours here. The become very dominant against the grey and white background. This is a very attractive picture indeed!

It's too late to be writing a long and winding critique of this one, but it just slid on to page one of the gallery and is very eye-catching. Such a simple view of the untended, un-frequented barrow in the bright light of Summer. Why can't we buy watermelon in our own streets? I've always wanted to follow Bogey and Woody to Casablanca.

Very interesting colourful photo shot in a bright sunlight. The funniest part of the pic is Watermelons resting on egg trays.....doubt if these are Dino''s eggs :)

This photo doesn't at all suffer from the absence of the salesman. The melons loaded on the cart with the plain, neutral background is such a fine composition in itself, like a "nature morte". It's a plain but beautifully elegant photo with very good colours.

The child memories are the sweetest :). As you know, in Poland it was difficult to buy various things in the communist time. For instance, oranges or peaches were expensive and rather rare. so it was for me real treat when my mother bought some. It seems to me I still remember the taste and smell. And now when we have plenty, they never taste as long time ago. I like that you used bucket in well as a fridge. Nice memories.
Nice artistic composition with this cart full of watermelons and adorned with some red flowers. Beautiful light.

Hi Klaudio, I wonder if the bus was stopped or moving, the photograph is really sharp and well composed if you were moving. The traditional method of cooling the watermelons is still same in Turkey in the villages. It is interesting that the watermelonman has fixed the melons in the cart by the help of the egg folios, isn't it?..
Have a nice day.

These water melons I would like to try right now. Interesting way to present the fruits. Vibrant colour hues with high sharpness and lively shadow vs sunshine contrasts. WEll done

Hello Klaudio. What a beautiful and aesthetic photo. Actually, it is a still life. Watermelons are good on hot days. And here in Germany it is very hot at the time.

Nice colourful travel street photo.
I also have childhood memories involving watermelons. Not from my country but the family holidays in Bulgaria. I must say those Balkan watermelons were sweet and juicy. :)

the only thing missing here is a seller of the fruit :)
but its still interesting to see the cart, the way the melons are positioned as its a very cultural scene.
really like it
