Mark Twain noted: "You gather the idea that Mauritius was made first and then heaven, and that heaven was copied after Mauritius".

This is Cap Malheureux, the northernmost tip of the tiny island, in the Riviere du Rempart district. The islet seen in the distance with the interesting shape is called Coin de Mire (Gunners Quoin).

Mauritius remained uninhabited until 1638, probably due to its remote location in the Indian Ocean, 900 kilometeres east of Madagascar. It has been an independent republic since 1968.

Bonjour Daniel
Jolie composition de ce bateau échoué en 1er plan et la mer qui est vert émeraude.
Merci pour le partage.
Amitiés
Nicole

Hi Daniel.

It looks like you're my neighbour today.
This is great site of the resting boat, colours are fantastic.
Too bad the scan is not so well.
It must be a real pleasure to see the original.

take care, Aleks

A very good perspective Daniel..great view with the boat in the FG. I like the island in the BG. Has a peculiar shape & looks volcanic in origin

Excellent composition from your low POV. The foreground boat seems to be pointing the way to the island behind.

Hi Daniel,
The foreground with the boat give a very warm feeling, excellent composition, the second boat gives a little bit blur, maybe through the movement, or maybe through the scanned.
Best regards,
John.

Hi Daniel,

A good POV of this beach scenery and the inlet in the background, the photo has a good composition and nice colors.

Hi Daniel,

Great composition with that boat on the foreground and the second on the water. I really like very much.

I feel the scanning (although very good) may not do justice to the quality of the photo. (Did you think of this image in B&W or sepia?).

Best regards and have a great week!
carlos

Beautiful composition. I love teh details of the boat in the foreground and the amazingly green water. Regards, Yvonne

Hi, Daniel!
Title is most poetical what I saw here... Composition with modern speed boat gives real feeling of fast going time... Note also most interesting!!!
My best wishes!
Ivars.
